Ever wondered what would happen if you took the mind of Tim Burton and mix it with Mary Poppins? Well, you get Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Childern. Check out the new trailer below.
I enjoyed this trailer, it looks visually stunning and the cast looks good, led by Eva Green and Asa Butterfield. Also, I think this is the sort of story that kids could go to and not be as scared as their parents think they will.
I mean, if you have Burton meets Mary Poppins then you’re going
to get a darker film, but kids like being treated like adults just look at
Nappy McPhee and the aforementioned Mary Poppins they both had adult themes embedded
in a kids story.
From visionary director Tim Burton, and based upon the best-selling
novel by Ransom Riggs, comes an unforgettable motion picture experience.
When his beloved grandfather leaves Jake clues to a mystery that spans
different worlds and times, he finds a magical place known as Miss Peregrine’s
Home for Peculiar Children. But the mystery and danger deepen as he gets
to know the residents and learns about their special powers…and their powerful
enemies. Ultimately, Jake discovers that only his own special
“peculiarity” can save his new friends.
The film also stars Chris O’Dowd, Rupert Everett, Terence
Stamp, Judi Dench and Samuel L. Jackson.
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Childern arrives on UK
cinemas on 30th September.
