HOLY SMOKES BATMAN! To celebrate the DVD/Blu-ray release of Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders you can see the dynamic duo make an ONE NIGHT ONLY appearance in cinemas nationwide on October 17th.
The reason this is brilliantly awesome news is because the first time I ever saw Batman on my TV screen was watching the VHS (if you’re under 25, google it) of the 1966 Batman movie starring Adam West as Batman with Burt Ward as Robin.
Before I fell in love with The Dark Knight, many of us were introduced to the character as the Caped Crusader.
Don’t get me wrong, compared to the Batman films, 66 Batman is crap (still better than Joel Schumacher’s big pile of shit Batman & Robin), but it has this brilliantly cheesy, campy and light-hearted take on the character we don’t get to see anymore. Until now!
Seeing the return of West, Ward and Julie Newmar as Catwoman (She was my first crush) will be a treat for fans of the TV show and film and this will be a Batman film which is family friendly and hopefully bring a new generation as well.
Many of my generation only know Adam West from Family Guy, but he was awesome and odd before Seth MacFarlane got his hands on him.
I urge everyone to go and have a great time and you can find out if Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders is playing in a cinema near you, click the link here – http://po.st/
You’ll be able to own the movie digitally from October 24th and available on DVD/Blu-ray 7th November.
It’s back to the 1960s as Batman and Robin spring into action when Gotham City is threatened by Batman’s most-evil opponents – The Penguin, The Joker, Riddler and Catwoman. The four Super-Villains have combined their wicked talents to hatch a plot so nefarious that the Dynamic Duo will need to go to outer space (and back) to foil their arch enemies and restore order in Gotham City.
Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders pays homage to the original Batman series, reuniting Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar as they reprise their roles as Batman, Robin and Catwoman.
