This Sunday (2nd April), the greatest show on earth, Wrestlemania 33 will be live from the Orlando Citrus Bowl in Florida on the WWE Network and PPV (but watch it on the network it’s cheaper).
“The Ultimate Thrill Ride” is going to be one long arse show with the overall length roughly being six hours, 10 matches on the actual show, so expect it to be at least four hours long and two hours for the Kickoff Show.
So check out who’s fighting and my predictions for this year’s event.

WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match (Kickoff Match)
Neville (c) vs Austin Aries
It sucks the Cruiserweight title match is on the pre-show as it would’ve benefited so much being on the main show, but Neville and Aries will put on a hell of a match.
It’s great to see Aries back inside a ring instead of commentating and his inclusion in the division will make it so much better, but Neville is keeping hold of the title.
Mainly because the causal audience doesn’t know much about Aries at the moment so watching him chase the title is best way to get a bigger following.
Plus, Neville being champion is what’s best for the division.
Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal (Kickoff Match)
Basically, 30 WWE Superstars begin the match in the ring and like Royal Rumble, each wrestler is eliminated by being tossed over the top rope.
At the moment 21 superstars have been conformed including the likes of Braun Strowman, Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler, Apollo Crews, Mojo Rawley and I fully expect Luke Harper and one (maybe two) NXT stars to show up like “The Perfect 10” Tye Dillinger.
This is just a showcase to make Strowman even more of a monster, but I think Zayn can leave looking strong, and if he’s included, same goes for Harper.
Prediction – Braun Strowman wins

Raw Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Ladder Match
Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson (c) vs Enzo Amore & Big Cass vs Cesaro & Sheamus
This is an interesting match for the sole reason both Gallows & Anderson and Enzo & Big Cass desperately need a win as both have been poorly used by WWE for months.
Because I think it’s so much more important for this team and the fact Finn Balor is returning and we could see a Bullet Club reunion in the future, Gallows & Anderson will win.
Prediction – Gallows and Anderson win
IMAGE VIA WWE - LEFT TO RIGHT - MICKIE JAMES; NATALYA; ALEXA BLISS; BECKY LYNCH; CARMELLA; NAOMI |
SmackDown Women’s Championship Match
Alexa Bliss (c) defends her title against the whole female SmackDown roster.
This is an interesting match because you have at least four of the women competing have a chance to win and you can maybe even add a fifth with the rumour NXT women’s champion Asuka getting called up to the blue brand.
I don’t think Asuka will win, if involved, but she’ll have a strong outing and even though I love Bliss, this title is going about to Naomi.
She had to give up her title after getting injured, but she’s now back, fit and fighting in her home state and at the end pins Bliss and Florida will “feel the glow.”
Intercontinental Championship Match
Dean Ambrose (c) vs Baron Corbin
“Crazy” Deano has done literally nothing with the IC title ever since beating The Miz for the belt back in January and it’s undid all the hard work The Miz did with bring credibility back to the title.
This, mixed with the fact Corbin has been unbelievable since the Royal Rumble getting better and better with every show/PPV, it’s time of “The Lone Wolf” gets his hands on his first ever title and making it the IC belt will mean more and hopefully have a decent title reign.
Plus, this will feel Ambrose to get back into the WWE Championship picture and maybe it’s time for The Lunatic Fringe to turn heel.
United States Championship Match
Chris Jericho (c) vs Kevin Owens
Not going to lie, this should’ve been the main event match with Owens still being Universal champion and because this has been the best feud in wrestling for a long time with the “Festival of Friendship” breaking hearts.
This is my favourite Jericho run and I’ve been a fan of KO since NXT and want Owens to be a truly hated heel and the way to do that is to not only win, but also break Y2J and injure him for a long time maybe even until Royal Rumble.
Also, by the sound of things, Jericho is taking some time off after Mania and return to music.
Prediction – Kevin Owens wins
IMAGE VIA WWE - LEFT TO RIGHT - BAYLEY; CHARLOTTE FLAIR; SASHA BANKS; NIA JAX |
Raw Women’s Championship Fatal 4-Way Elimination Match
Bayley (c) vs Charlotte Flair vs Sasha Banks vs Nia Jax
If Bayley hadn’t won the title and was still battling to even stay in the championship picture then I would’ve said she’d win and Charlotte would’ve lost her first ever PPV match. Both have been thrown out the window now.
Even though I’ve seen some people thinking it might be Nia Jax taking home the belt and I think she has a better chance than Charlotte, but with Banks doing more heely things. I think she’ll being winning.
Sasha’s heel turn should be a slow one (because she was amazing as a heel in NXT) and have it start with a vicious Bank Statemate and build an awesome post-mania feud between Nia and Flair.
Shane McMahon vs AJ Styles
I don’t know why this match is happening to be honest, AJ should be in the WWE Championship match with Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt.
Styles is going to win. This match will be used to highlight Shane’s awful punches and some ridiculous high spot, but if “The Phenomenal One” doesn’t win, that crowd is going to be pissed.
Seth Rollins vs Triple H
This story has been a couple of years in the making, the only master vs student ever gets old and everyone was excited to know this match will finally be happening.
Even though HHH never loses at Wrestlemania and Rollins is injured, the win has to go to Seth to make him a fully decent babyface.
You can sort of see what’s going to happen, Saoma Joe will come out and join Hunter in beating down Rollins and HHH will bring out the sledge hammer. However, things will go black and the man Rollins injured back at Summerslam – Finn Balor will come out and help Rollins get the three count.
Prediction – Seth Rollins wins
IMAGE VIA WWE - LEFT TO RIGHT - NIKKI BELLA & JOHN CENA; THE MIZ & MARYSE |
John Cena & Nikki Bella vs The Miz & Maryse
This is basically a filler match between Rollins/Triple H and the match following this. It’s also a match to promote the series finale of Total Divas/Total Bellas.
However, The Miz has been one of (if the best) wrestler in recent months in the WWE, he’s just been on fire and for this reason and the fact Cena is again taking some time off should force WWE to think about story and what this will do for The Miz rather than pleasing big boy John.
If Miz does pick up the win, people will still be talking about Cena as a highlight of this maina as he’ll propose to Nikki (on what could be her final match) and both go off to the sunset together as I think he’ll be filming Shazam.
The Undertaker vs Roman Reigns
This is the match that could make or break Wrestlemania 33 because of if Taker wins people will be happy, if Roman wins and stays babyface everyone will be pissed off, but if The Big Dog does win and turns heel than I can see people being happy.
The way to Reigns heel is if after multiple spears and superman punches, he’s still unable to keep The Deadman down and then he just snaps and after the referee gets knocked down, Roman hits Taker with chair shots.
Then his cousins The Usos (which are heels on Smackdown) beats The Undertaker and one final spear and 1..2..3.
Universal Championship Match
Goldberg (c) vs Brock Lesnar
This is a tricky one because if Goldberg decides to hang around I could see him retain, but then what’s the point of sweeping Lesnar again in a matter of seconds.
Brock needs to prove he is the monster of the WWE and putting Goldberg to rest will do that.
On the other hand, I don’t see either holding the belt for too long and I’m backing Goldberg to stay a little longer and be in this match over five minutes and lose the title at the next PPV to a heel Roman Reigns.
WWE Championship Match
Bray Wyatt vs Randy Orton
I (like every other wrestling fan) loves Bray Wyatt as WWE champion as he’s one of the best wrestlers in the WWE and after getting screwed over in multiple Wrestlemania’s it’s about time Wyatt gets a win at the grandest stage of them all.
Also, Orton has been in a plethora PPV main events and is coming to the end of his career and the push this win would do for Wyatt would be fantastic and I think we’d like to see him retain the belt for a while.
Prediction – Bray Wyatt wins
