Marvel Studios celebrated their renovation for its LA HQ by bringing a handful of film journalists and pundits some exclusive concept art and footage on Monday (17th April).

They showed off concept art of how Thanos may look in Avengers: Infinity War, early drawings of Ant-Man & the Wasp and Captain Marvel. Plus, Thor: Ragnarok and Ant-Man & the Wasp directors Taika Waititi and Peyton Reed showed up to talk about their respected projects.

Black Panther

Black Panther sounds awesome and grand by The Hollywood Reporter’s description and they showed a handful of scenes, which had two days of filming as of Monday. So basically as of today (Wednesday 19th April), Ryan Coolger will finish shooting.

“There were gorgeous costumes, and journalists were treated to footage of a coronation scene for T’Challa/Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), who appears bare-chested and holding ceremonial weapons to take the monarch role left empty following his father’s death in Captain America: Civil War.

“In another scene, Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) stealthily takes down a group of gun-toting bad guys, and in the third, Ulysses Klaue (Andy Serkis) rolls into a casino with quite the entourage and has a rather funny exchange with Everett K. Ross (Martin Freeman), who asks if the villain is releasing a mixtape (that’s the only explanation for his big entourage). Soon all hell breaks loose as T’Challa must take on the bad guys.”

They added an interesting fact after appearing in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Klaue has regrown a second arm which is unfinished CG work and the visual effects team will get done in post-production.

Captain Marvel

As for Captain Marvel, Germain Lussier of io9 explained the concept art they saw saying “For Captain Marvel, there were three pieces of art shown on the tour.

“Two were simply of Brie Larson as the character in an updated costume. This might not be the costume once the film hits but it looked to the one in the comics, just with a darker blue base and more lines going up and down it. The third image was of the character punching the fist of some kind of giant robot in an action scene. It had a very Hulk vs Hulkbuster feel to it.”

I’m looking forward to seeing Larson in the costume and playing a superhero as she’s going to do a fantastic job and I think we’ll hear news about the film’s director and this concept art will be shown at either D23 or San Diego Comic Con.

Thor: Ragnarok and Spider-Man: Homecoming

A few more bits of info about the next two Marvel Cinematic Universe films were revealed as comicbook.com reported Thor director Waititi has a role in the film and will be playing Korg, a Kronan character and a known adversaries to Asgard.

“During production, Waititi geared up in motion capture suit and lent his voice to rock [the] monster. According to Waititi, Korg will ‘introduce Thor to the world of Sakaar.’”

Elsewhere, the New Zealand director announced Korg and Miek will be introduced in the film and showed an introductory scene with the website giving an in-depth description.

“In it, Thor is tossed into a gladiator jail, of sorts, on Sakaar. Always the hasty hero, Thor is eager to take on the Grandmaster. Korg, however, advises against it, in a much lighter an expected voice complete with Waititi’s New Zealand accent.”

The helmer also said the character is loveable but admits it’s “difficult to make a character made of rocks loveable.”

As for Spider-Man: Homecoming, not a lot was mentioned, but they showed some actions shots featuring Peter being thrown through a bus and another scene revealed Logan Marshall-Green will be playing The Shocker.

Marvel also confirmed Spider-Man will be appearing in Avengers 4 and there will be a Homecoming sequel.
