Hakuna Matata People! Actors To Voice Timon and Pumbaa Have Been Found

After announcing Donald Glover as Simba and the return of Mufasa himself James Earl Jones for Disney’s live-action adaptation of The Lion King it seems like they’ve found the duo to play one of the best double acts in film.

That’s right. We can say Hakuna Matata to Billy Eichner and Seth Rogan who are in talks to voice Timon and Pumbaa, sources have told The Wrap.

Meanwhile, Beyonce is still being looked at for Nala.

If you don’t remember you Timon and Pumbaa were they’re the loveable meerkat and warthog who look after Simba after he fled his kingdom.

Rogen is obviously no stranger to voicing an animated character after starring in Kung Fu Panda, Monsters vs. Aliens and last year’s Sausage Party. I don’t know of Eichner and seen anything he’s been in, but I look forward to seeing them work together and especially sing.

I still think Robert Downey Jr and Lion King director Jon Favreau would have been great together as these characters.

Jeff Nathanson will be writing the film with Favreau helming which has now been fast-tracked with Disney revealing the release date of July 19, 2019.
