Marvel Studios have announced Captain Marvel has officially begun production yesterday (Monday 26th March) and a couple of characters are returning.
The biggest returning name is Agents of SHIELD star Clark Gregg coming back to the big screen for the first time since Agent Coulson died in 2012’s Avengers Assemble.
Meanwhile, two stars from Guardians of the Galaxy are also making a comeback, Lee Pace will be reprising his role of Ronan the Accuser and Djimon Hounsou as Korath the Pursuer has also officially joined the film.

It comes as a surprise people were expected or happy to see Ronan coming into the film because what last remember he’s one of the worst Marvel villains and for a Marvel film that’s saying a lot. Additionally, I forgot Hounsou was in Guardians of the Galaxy.
However, it makes sense both these characters would be returning in Captain Marvel as the film is rumoured to focus on the Kree-Skrull war with both Ronan and Korath being from the planet Kree.
The same goes for Gregg returning, as the film is also set in the 1990s it makes sense he’d be working for SHIELD alongside Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) with both eyes.
Elsewhere, joining Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers will be Jude Law as Mar-Vell, Ben Mendelsohn, Gemma Chan, Lashasa Lynch, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte and McKenna Grace.
Larson is fully involved in getting her Top Gun on visiting Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada learning from 57th Wing Commander Brigadier General Jeannie Leavitt.

The Oscar-winning actress also posted on her Instagram training getting into superhero shape.
Finally, if production for Captain Marvel has begun, why have we seen Larson in her Kree costume? Could they be testing the costume and cameras? Is she popping up in a post credit scene in Infinity War and/or has a role in Avengers 4?
Captain Marvel is beginning directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck and will be coming to UK and US cinemas on March 8, 2019.
