Marvel's Doctor Strange Composer Michael Giacchino Is Set To Swing Into Spider-Man: Homecoming

During the weekend rumours started spreading online that Doctor Strange composer Michael Giacchino was going to score the music for Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Giacchino took to Twitter yesterday afternoon to respond to the rumours with an image of the Homecoming logo and the caption “The rumours are true….”

Speculation started on Reddit after a user claimed the prolific composer would be scoring the film after the details had been let slip at a Doctor Strange panel last week.

Strange won’t be the only blockbuster film Giacchino will be scoring as he’s recently been hard at work on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

He’s been seen as the heir apparent to John Williams and has composed music for films such as Inside Out, Star Trek Beyond and Jurassic World. He’s also one Academy Awards for Disney Pixar classics Up, Ratatouille and The Incredibles.

Spider-Man: Homecoming will star Tom Holland, Zendaya and Michael Keaton (this is still a rumour).

Adding the talents of Giacchino is only a good thing, however, let’s hope his Rogue One score will be more memorable than his recent Doctor Strange because I can’t reminder a single piece of music for that film.
