WOW! There’s been of back and forth news this week within the world of the DCU. Luckily enough, I’m here to break it down for you.
Wonder Woman
As we’re getting closer to the release of Wonder Woman (ONLY TWO WEEKS AWAY YAY!) and in the early hours of this morning in the UK (Friday 19th May) the press were allowed to post their thoughts on the film on Twitter and it’s safe to say, minus a few flaws, this is going to be a summer box office smash!
Everyone is praising the two most important women to the film – Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and her acting abilities and Patty Jenkins as her work as a director.
If you want to read these mini Twitter reviews, check out Batman News.
Elsewhere, Wonder Woman has had a few more posters released as this must be taking the tally to close to 10 posters and each in their own right could be film's main poster, but my two favourites and the ones I’m going to decide what will go on my wall will be the Deflection poster or this brand new Lasso poster!

The Flash
This week has been very much dominated in the DCU by The Flash directing news.
Within an hour we had three names being eyed for the director’s chair, but since that news, two names from this rumoured shortlist have passed on the project.

Entertainment Weekly revealed the two previous Spider-Man helmers Sam Raimi and Marc Webb have passed on the position.
EW also stated that Billy Crudup has dropped out from the role as Barry Allen’s father, but it turned out NOT to be the case and Crudup WILL still very much be a part of Ezra Miller’s scarlet speedsters flick and we’ll first meet him in Justice League.
Black Adam/ Shazam

While doing interviews for his new comedy film Baywatch, Dwayne Johnson spoke to We Got This Covered and sort of revealed who he’d like to see as Shazam.
“I’m not even going to tell you his name, I’m just going to say Lone Ranger… I just remember meeting him and walking away going, ‘Man, that guy would look great, I bet, as Shazam’”, he explained.

The man The Rock is talking about is The Social Network and The Man from UNCLE star Armie Hammer, who previously starred in the Disney remake of The Lone Ranger opposite Johnny Deep.
Johnson did stress “By the way, he’s one of a handful.”
However, after being rumoured and fancasted as Green Lantern and Nightwing, Hammer has got to be surely in the DCU at some point and I want him a part of this universe as either of the character mentioned.
He’s a big dude and has a fantastic personality both on and off screen, plus he’s a really underrated actor and was brilliant in his recent film Free Fire.

The Rock didn’t stop there while talking to Fandango he revealed we WILL be seeing Black Adam fighting Henry Cavill’s Superman.
Johnson said there are plans for his DC Comics supervillain to take on the Man of Steel and I for one can not wait!
“One fine day,” he said. “That’s coming. That’s in the cards.”
The big mass of muscles also restated his solo Black Adam film is “definitely going to happen.”
“We have a really cool surprise for Black Adam that I can’t reveal, in terms of where we will see Black Adam being introduced,” he added.
Oddly enough, I have this weird feeling we might see Black Adam briefly in Justice League and in two different scenes. One scene in the epic war at the beginning against Darkseid and in a post credit scene taking out Superman.

I could (and likely will be) 100% wrong, but how awesome would it be to see Cavill’s Man of Steel returning and seeing Earth in a new light at the end of Justice League then BANG! Black Adam takes him out clean.
Aquaman
Finally, this was the most surprising thing to see was James Wan released the first image from Aquaman and it wasn’t the title character, it was Mera instead.

Previously, Mera herself Amber Heard posted an image on her social media talking about her first day on set and I have to say seeing this image is like see the character coming out of the comic, she looks perfect.
Over a year of prep, 6 months of training, & countless hrs of denying myself pleasure, aka donuts, has led to this moment: Day 1. #Aquaman pic.twitter.com/qW1UE10RxS— Amber Heard (@realamberheard) 18 May 2017
This shouldn’t be a surprise Warner Bros/DC knocked it out of the park when it comes to costumes because they always do. The green is just so bright and it looks like fish scales.

I’ve seen people compare it to Heard’s costume in Justice League and preferring the new image. Honestly, I love both for different reasons.
