NXT Takeover Brooklyn 4 Preview & Predictions

IMAGE VIA WWE

NXT Takeover: Brooklyn four is all set to become the biggest NXT show in the brand's history with the additional hour added to the evening we could see a minimum of three matches that could steal out only the show but the whole weekend.

Because that’s what NXT does become the talking point ahead of WWE’s main event.

The only shame is the injury to Aleister Black just before the brands biggest show, but hopefully, they’ll continue his story of getting attacked in the parking lot (more on that later) but the five-match card could still be mind-blowing.

Here are my predictions to the most exciting card of this WWE weekend:

NXT North American Championship – Adam Cole (c) vs Ricochet

This would be a brilliant, exciting match to kick off the weekend and one of the hardest to call because Cole doesn’t need the title while Ricochet could easily be in contention for an NXT title shot, either way, a defeat won’t hurt them.

If anything whoever loses will be focusing on the NXT title.

Cole is one of the best heels in WWE at the moment, but he has been champion for a while and Ricochet could be a great fighting champion with a number of wrestlers (two of them fighting on the same night) waiting in the wings to challenge.

The match itself will be a great show with Cole using every heel tactic going and then you’ve got the high flying nature of Ricochet.

Winner – Ricochet Becomes The New NXT North American Champion

NXT Tag Team Championship – The Undisputed Era vs Moustache Mountain

Seeing Moustache Mountain win the NXT tag belts live at the Royal Albert Hall was a great experience to witness in what was a fantastic match, followed-up by Undisputed Era regaining the titles in another classic in wrestling storytelling.

I do think this will be the last time these two teams will face one-on-one (as a third team will be added for War Games likely War Raiders) and people are seemingly sleeping on this match, but I believe they could steal the weekend by having now only the best tag match, but the best match on the card and a possible match of the year candidate as all four wrestlers have it in them to do it.

However, unlike their fraction member Cole, Rodrick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly are better with the titles and they’ve just won them back so I can’t see them drop them soon.

Additionally, Tyler Bate and Trent Seven are going to be holding the NXT UK tag belts soon.

Winner – The Undisputed Era Retain The NXT Tag Team Championship

Velveteen Dream vs EC3

Despite being two heels, this will be the most entertaining match of the evening, if not the weekend.

Both wrestlers could easily see themselves moving into a program for the North American title, but one of them need the win more than the other.

As Dream is so charismatic and talented with potential to turn face and challenge for the NXT title. Meanwhile, EC3 needs a big match victory as he’s been seemingly wasted since joining the brand even though he got plenty of love from the UK NXT fans.

I’m just looking forward to seeing what Dream’s ring gear will be this time.

Winner – EC3

This will be the perfect time to do the look at the new signings in the crowd with the camera showing Io Shirai (and maybe Deonna Purrazzo) to highlight the Mae Young Classic as well as a contender for the NXT Women’s Championship.

The next face to be shown to a massive pop will be Matt Riddle and from there we could see NXT GM William Regal with an injured Black come out to talk about the attack with a new video showing Riddle was the one who took out the former NXT champ.

From there this could build to a fantastic feud going into War Games as it could be Black’s first match back and Riddle dominating since joining NXT.

Since The Pro Wrestling Show come up with this idea on their show last week, I think it’s a perfect way to use both wrestlers and the match would be awesome.

NXT Women’s Championship – Shayna Baszler (c) vs Kairi Sane

A repeat of the final of the inaugural Mae Young Classic, this match is another match to predict.

Baszler has been a dominant champion since taking it from Ember Moon, but there’s a real possibility of her moving up to Raw and tease a possible feud/joining with her fellow Four Horsewoman Ronda Rousey.

Meanwhile, seeing Sane with the belt will be refreshing and it’ll give the crowd a babyface pop before leaving in misery.

Plus there are heels in the wings to challenge with Bianca Belair the top choice.

The match itself could see Baszler bring out a different side to Sane to really ear the victory.

Winner – Kairi Sane Becomes The New NXT Women’s Champion

NXT Championship – Tommaso Ciampa (c) vs Johnny Gargano

This match does have a downside as it would’ve been a nice new dynamic with Black making it a triple threat as this Last Man Standing will likely be the last time these two will fight on NXT.

This match alone is the reason why an extra hour has been added to the show with Gargano the ultimate babyface and Ciampa the best heel in not only WWE but in wrestling currently.

I love seeing these two battle forever but after this both will need a break from each other with Johnny Wrestling moving up to Smackdown and Blackheart dominating NXT.

I seriously could see this match going over 70 minutes and both superstars leaving the Barclays Centre on stretchers to the point I will not be surprised if either man fails to get up to the count of 10 to probably a bloody and brutal bout.

If they do have a break and Gargano doesn’t move up to the main roster then keep him off TV until the lead up to Wrestlemania Takeover weekend for one last match.

Elsewhere, as for the winner the fact Ciampa has just got hold of the championship there’s no way he’d be just a transition champion, Blackheart could go on to be the best NXT champion ever.

Sorry, Johnny, I love you but you’re going to be your head caved in.

Whatever happens, this match will be the most talked about of the weekend, steal the show and be another match of the year candidate joining their two other matches.

Winner – Tommaso Ciampa Retains The NXT Championship
