WELCOME TO THE DC CINEMATIC UNIVERSE

Tuesday night in America, early Wednesday morning for us in the UK, DC fans and film fans in general were watching ‘DC Films present The Dawn Of The Justice League’ on the TV network The CW to find out what will be happening in the DC Cinematic Universe.

The build up to the network special was brilliant as David Ayer unveiled two different and fantastic Suicide Squad posters. We also got to see the kick – ass concept art for the Justice League (see above) and the official Wonder Woman logo.

Then on the show itself, hosted by Kevin Smith and Geoff Johns, they showed new footage of Batman v Superman, first look at Wonder Woman and concept art of Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg and Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash.

It all ended with the first OFFICIAL trailer of Suicide Squad, directed by David Ayer.

All I have to say is god bless the internet and YouTube because fans and movie goers outside the US weren’t able to watch this special, but luckily some beautiful people uploaded the clips and concept art for everyone to enjoy.

So let’s start with the new Batman v Superman footage and it wasn’t long, just another 30 second TV spot. However, we did get a first look at Gal Gadot’s solo Wonder Woman film and what they showed us was beautiful, director Patty Jenkins and cinematographer Matthew Jenson will be bringing a strong vision to this film.

Even though it’s yet another origin story, it’s a very important story to tell, they talk about how strong Wonder Woman is and making sure you know she’s the best fighter in the DC Universe and was born to be a warrior.

Hopefully this will calm down the Gadot hater’s and even though I still find it strange they haven’t showed footage of her talking this tweet made sense.

Now let’s talk about this concept artwork for Aqauman, Cyborg and The Flash! With all three looking totally badass.

Momoa will be bring strength to Arther Curry and to a character which has been a long running joke, but I think the 36 year old Hawaiian will turn him into the King of Atlantis fans have been waiting to see comparing him to the character in The New 52 comics and Injustice: Gods Among Us comic book, where he proves he's the fucking boss.

If you haven’t read a comic book before and want something cool and different I seriously recommend Injustice.

Anyway, we’ve got a better idea of what Cyborg and The Flash will look like in this Cinematic Universe. Cyborg has always been an interesting character to me because I wasn't sure how they were going to adapt him into the big screen without looking like Robocop or the Terminator.

The concept artwork looks really promising and I cannot wait to see the transformation in either Batman v Superman or Justice League: Part One.

Talking about promising the final piece of concept art focuses on The Flash and how they’re going to make him a different character compared to the incredibly successful TV show and I think they’ve done it.

They’ve focused on the Injustice comic book again making it a more armed based suit and they’ve given him fingerless gloves, which I really love.

Finally, the TV special finished with a brand new trailer of the Suicide Squad aka WORST. HEROES. EVER. I loved this trailer so much I think it does a great job of mixing the darkness and humour and I can see this getting a lot of comparisons to Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

If you look at the colours used, I seriously believe David Ayer has made the closest thing to a superhero arthouse film that is possible and will be like we’re on an acid trip. The hype the trailer is making I won't be surprised if it comes close to the sort of money Batman v Superman and Captain America: Civil War will make at the box office.

It’s easy to predict every guy will fall in love with Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, if they haven’t already, and I think girls will also love her as she’s a strong woman as well as loving to dress up. Also, we may have found a role where Jai Courtney is actually good! A beer drinking Australian!
