Why Batman v Superman Will Be Great Plus More DC News

There’s been a fair bit of DC news recently, from why you shouldn't worry Batman v Superman will flop to Wonder Woman to Justice League, so let me update you into what’s happening within the DC Cinematic Universe.

Last week I read one of the smartest, most interesting and well written pieces in a long time. Mark Hughes, who’s a contributor for Forbes, wrote a four page article about why fans shouldn’t worry about Batman v Superman being a box office flop, despite recent rumours.

Hughes used a lot of information, comparisons, box office numbers, estimates and points to make you feel better. The bottom line is that the worst case scenario Batman v Superman will make $800 million (£567+ million) with all the data and figures Hughes used to explain his argument and then realistically the film, if it’s good and the fans and audience react well, could rack up $900-950 million (£638-673+ million).

I fully recommend everyone to read this article, it’s well explained and even though it’s four pages long, you’ll easily understand it and has DC fans you can relax and not worry about the rumours.

Next we finally know the run time for Batman v Superman and AMC theatres have confirmed it’ll be two hours and 31 minutes of superhero epicness.

It’s what DC fans were expecting because you have to fit A LOT into it. So I expect we’ll get 45 minutes to an hour of beginning introduced to Ben Affleck’s Batman, then next 45 minutes/hour will be Batman v Superman and then the final half hour will be Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman fighting this bigger threat.

Update – Following the huge success of Deadpool it looks like Warner Bros will be releasing an R rated (a 15 rating in most cases) version of Batman v Superman.

Titled Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition and it’ll be available on Blu–ray and DVD and according to Filmrating.com; this cut will feature ‘sequences of violence’ which won’t be in the cinematic release, which will be 12A/PG-13.

Also last week, photos from behind the scenes of Wonder Woman leaked out via Twitter and shows Gal Gadot as Diana Prince in Tranfalgar Square has it was transformed into a WW1 scene. We also might have an idea of the character Lucy Davis (better known from The Office) is playing and it looks like she’s be Etta Candy aka Diana’s best friend.

Here are some of the images and you can argue how beautiful Gadot looks and I really do believe kids will see her and tell their parents “I want to be Wonder Woman when I grow up” because to me she’s looking more like the character the more images and videos are released. The same thing happened when Henry Cavill was announced as Superman for Man of Steel and he looked like he came from the comics.

Finally, Entertainment Weekly has exclusively revealed Zack Snyder’s Justice League is officially a go as they’ll start shooting in London on 11th April, just over two weeks after Batman v Superman is released.

This was even more confirmed with Zack Snyder tweeting a picture with Aquaman himself Jason Momoa. But what’s got fans even more excited is the costumes in the background as we can clearly see The Flash and also two other suits which have got fans guessing from Black Manta (Aquaman villain) to Nightwing (Batman’s former Robin Dick Grayson).
