Pokemon To Be Turned Into Live Action Film

Pokémon Go continues to rule the world as the gaming app finally lands in the UK for millennials to look at their phones for even longer. Now, Hollywood has come knocking and want to turn the 20-year-old property into a live-action film.

Legendary Pictures seems to be close to a deal to land the rights to make the film and beating competition of every franchise hungry studio, according to Deadline. Legendary are on a high at the moment after Warcraft: The Beginning became the most financially successful video game movie ever having smashed the Chinese box office.

There are no details on what the film could be about, but the studio has bought on Chronicle screenwriter Max Landis to pen a script and get the ball rolling. Personally, Landis is the perfect person to write about this world because if you don’t know who he is, type his name into YouTube and watch him pitch films and you’ll go “Fuck, I want to see that film!”

If they made this live action film with the Pokémon growing to the size of Godzilla, I think with awesome CGI in an alternative world this could be a brilliant live action film and with Landis rumoured to penning a script, I think he’s the perfect man to make this into a property people could take seriously and still have loads of fun as well.
