A few months ago, news came out that super-TV producer Greg Berlanti, the man responsible for DC TV shows Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow) is moving to the world of film to director another DC property Booster Gold.
Booster Gold is a semi-popular humorous DC Comics character, a cocky bloke from the future who steals high-tech equipment, travels back in time, and seeks fame and fortune as a superhero in the present.

However, it looks like Goldie won’t be teaming up with Henry Cavill’s Superman or Batfleck in the shared DC Extended Universe anytime soon. While talking to Vulture, Berlanti said, “As of right now we have no connective tissue to those worlds.”
Adding “it’d be a separate thing,” the idea came from the long-dead Booster Gold TV show Berlanti and long-time producing buddy Andrew Kreisberg, but it “never got off the ground.”
After a while, Berlanti and Kreisberg got to talking with DC Entertainment president and fellow DC TV collaborator Geoff Johns (co-chief of DC Films) got talking about the possibility of turning it into a movie. This is the wheels in motion and Zack Stentz, who wrote an episode of The Flash and co-wrote X-Men: First Class and Thor, was hired to write a script.

This Booster Gold story sounds every similar to Shazam! as a lot of reporters and fans thought he wasn’t a part of the same universe until the film’s producer and The Rock’s production partner Dany Garcia confirm he be in the DCEU.
I can see the same happening with Booster Gold down the line, mainly because Berlanti and Johns are friends and worked together to make the DC TV shows successful.
Plus, the rumour was the film was going for a buddy-cop style and included Booster Gold’s friend Blue Beetle aka Ted Kord is a part of the DCEU, thanks to this Lex Luthor Fortune interview.

So even though it’s not connected at the moment, I won’t be surprised if news come out that confirms he will be in this shared universe and you don’t need to see a Gal Gadot cameo to make the point. If anything just have some awesome Easter eggs of Wonder Woman’s sword and shield or statues of the Justice League in the Hall of Justice to make your point.
Personally, I heard a brilliant idea of turning the film into a mockumentary and after seeing him in Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, Andy Samberg would be a great lead for this sort of character.
