It’s the number one worldwide box office film, making over a billion dollars, now you can own Captain America: Civil War on Blu-Ray, 3D, DVD and on Digital (which has been out since 30th August).
If you’re not sure you want to spend up to £15 on owning the epic superhero showdown, I can let you know it’s differently worth the money mainly because you get over an hour’s worth of bonus content and it includes:
- United We Stand, Divided We Fall – The Making of Captain America: Civil War Part 1 & Part 2
- Captain America: The Road to Civil War
- Iron Man: The Road to Civil War
- Gag Reel
- Deleted & Extended Scenes
- Audio Commentary
- Open Your Mind: Marvel’s Doctor Strange – Exclusive Sneak Peek
Before I continue with my review of the bonus content, I wasn’t the biggest lover of Civil War when it came out in cinemas, don’t get me wrong it’s a good film and Anthony and Joe Russo have directed my preferred Marvel films so far. It’s just I’m one of the rare people who liked Batman v Superman more.

I went to a special screening because I’m a huge fan of Blu-ray bonus content because I love seeing how a film is made and all the behind the scenes stuff.
I’m glad to say Marvel have done a fantastic job with the special features for this film and it gives a really fascinating insight into making Civil War and it starts with the brilliant two-parter making of.
Part one focuses on developing the story from comic book to the big screen, the fighting especially how the huge airport scene came about, they also talk about each character and the backstory about why they choose their side.

I personally liked the backstory of Scarlet Witch because I felt she was underused and wasn’t developed enough in the film, but it was news to my ears that we might see she unleash her full power in Infinity War.

Part Two continues where part one ended and looking at the new characters of the MCU including Black Panther, who was my highlight and standout of Civil War, and it was fascinating listening to how the costume designers deciding between a tech-based or cultural Panther suit.

Then they moved to Spider-Man and the Russo’s talked about why Tom Holland was the right man for the job and it was nice to know the Spidey in this universe has been around for six months before meeting the other heroes, which is something I didn’t know.

Then it gets to Zemo and even though you can see why they picked him to be the villain it’s just I kept thinking “why wasn’t this in the film?” and this making of finishes on how this conflict will affect the other films moving forward including Infinity War.
You only get a handful of deleted scenes and gag reels are always great to watch. I sure the audio commentary from the Russo brothers will include some awesome and interesting insights into the Civil War and maybe future Marvel films.
The exclusive Doctor Strange Sneak Peek will get fans super excited as the cast talk about the film and their characters with new scenes and it was great to hear from Tilda Swinton and Chiwetel Ejiofor talking about The Ancient One and Baron Mordo respectively.
Verdict
As bonus features go it’s differently one of the best and along with the film it’s worth the £15 on Blu-ray.
