There hasn’t been a DC Films news round-up for a while, but let’s get back to looking what’s happening in the DCU this week.
Batman’s New Badass Suit
This week, Zach Snyder took to Twitter to announce the homestretch of Justice League film in London and maybe Ben Affleck wrapping up his filming.
Harley Quinn Movie
It’s becoming even clearer we’re getting the Harley Quinn spinoff.
Not only because Margot Robbie was one of the best/biggest parts of Suicide Squad hitting over $700 million worldwide, but there’s also another reason.
We’ve got our Henry Allen for The Flash movie, and it’s going to be Billy Crudup.
According to Variety, Crudup, best known for playing Dr Manhattan in Watchmen, is in talks to play the father to Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen.
Crudup will be the third Watchmen star to appear in the DCEU and the second to be playing a parent following Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who played Thomas Wayne (Batman’s dad) in Batman v Superman and Carla Gugino, who voiced Kelor in Man of Steel and BvS.
All we have to do is wait for Malin Akerman (Silk Spectre), Matthew Goode (Ozymandias), Jackie Earle Haley (Rorschach) and Patrick Wilson (Nite Owl) to be included in the DCU and we'll have a full reunion.

Personally, I think this is a great choice because Crudup was looking for a role in The Flash and he looks similar to Miller. Also, why wouldn’t the naked blue guy be the Scarlet Speedsters dad?
Ever since we learnt Jared Leto’s role as The Joker in Suicide Squad was reduced, fans have wanted to see more and thought it was possible he would've had a cameo in Justice League.
Then a rumour surfaced Leto would be filming scenes in Iceland (because that makes sense), however, it doesn’t sound like it’ll be happening.
According to The Wrap’s Umberto Gonzalez, Warner Bros have no plans to include Leto’s Joker in Justice League.
Sorry DC fanboys. Yesterday's rumor that surfaced about Jared Leto being in JUSTICE LEAGUE? Unfortunately, not true. #DEADED— Umberto Gonzalez (@elmayimbe) 13 September 2016
This is the smart move because there’s no real need to have him in the film and the cast is already pretty massive, so adding another big character would be useless and this keeps Batman to focus on getting a gang of metahumans to fight off an alien threat.
I wouldn’t dismiss the idea of a post credit scene of the League catching Joker and Harley robbing a bank or something.
Ryan Potter's Robin Audition
Ryan Potter, best known for his voice work in Disney’s 2014 animated film Big Hero 6, posted a Robin audition video on YouTube showing off his acrobatic fighting skills. Check it out below.
Ending the video by saying “Hey Ben, like Tim said… Batman needs a Robin!”
The Robin he’s looking to pitch is Tim Drake (the third Robin), but I just don’t see a live Robin (R.I.P Jason Todd) working in Ben Affleck’s Batman film or the DCU in general. That’s not to say we’ll see Nightwing because I think that’s more likely.
I don’t knock Potter for uploading this video because you can see a lot of hard work went into it and he does a brilliant job showing off his skills and if he doesn’t get the role then I think he should be getting more work in general.
Other News
Henry Cavill’s new manager Dany Garcia, who also manages Dwayne Johnson, was speaking to Newsweek about her new client and seemly confirmed a new solo Superman is on his plate.

“Henry has a big appetite, we’ve been in a five-month period of time where he’s re-strategizing, acquiring property (for his production company Promethean), he’s filming (Justice League) now, he’s in development for the Superman standalone.
“He’s beginning to expand that world. It’s beautifully teed up. In a year from now, or two years from now, he’s going to be a force globally.”
Meanwhile, Justice League has been filming in WB’s Leavesden Studios in London since April and with the film in the homestretch, they’re going to one more location, Iceland.
This is where they’ll probably film a lot of the Aquaman stuff.
Finally, Amy Adams was talking to Variety about the beating Batman v Superman got from the fans and critics admitting “We took a hit,” but added, “We’ll come back up.”

Filming for Justice League started a couple weeks after the reviews came out so it would’ve been understandable if morale was at an all-time low, but when asked about the mood on set, Adams was upbeat saying “Everyone is really excited. It’s a totally a different film. They’re introducing a lot of different characters.”
During the BvS beatdown, Adams was thinking about Zack Snyder, who got the worst of it.
“I just felt for Zack,” said Adams. “Zack’s like the nicest person ever, and to see him kind of talked about like that was really hard for me, because he’s really such a respectful director.”
