When Disney/Lucasfilm announced they’ll be a young Han Solo film being made with Phil Lord and Chris Miller directing, fans thought if we might see a young Lando. Now, it looks like we’ll see how Lando Calrissian lost the Millennium Falcon to Solo.
Lucasfilm announced Donald Glover will be playing the iconic character made famous by Billy Dee Williams, starring opposite Alden Ehrenreich as Han, and I honestly think Glover is the perfect person to play the suave and charming Calrissian.

It’s just a shame it wasn’t this Glover.
Lord and Miller spoke about their excitement to StarWars.com saying “We’re so lucky to have an artist as talented as Donald join us. These are big shoes to fill, and an even bigger cape, and this one fits him perfectly, which will save us money on alterations.”
The directing duo also went on to apologise to Glover adding “Also, we’d like to publicly apologise to Donald for ruining Comic-Con for him forever.”
In this prequel spin-off, we’ll see Lando in his formative years being a scoundrel on the rise in the galaxies underworld and will probably see Lando, Han and Chewie go out on an adventure together.

Lawrence Kasdan – writer of The Empire Strikes Back and returning to Star Wars for the last time for the Han Solo prequel – talked to Empire and hinted it won’t be a traditional origin story.
“It won’t be like here is where he was born and this is how he was raised. I think what it will be is what he was like ten years earlier, you know a little earlier you’ll get a glimpse but… what formed the person we meet in the cantina?
“It is not so much about his specific history. It is about what makes a person like that? He’s not full formed in the cantina!” added Kasdan.
Star Wars’ Han Solo movie will be coming to UK cinemas on 25th May 2018.
