Better known as Spud in Trainspotting and T2 Trainspotting, the next time we’ll see Ewen Bremner as a soldier in Wonder Woman.
Details about his character have been tight-lipped, but we did get a quick look at him in Batman v Superman standing with Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) in a group photo taken in 1918.
Even though he “can’t say very much” and didn’t reveal the name of his character, Bremner did give Digital Spy some insight into his role.
“I play a character who’s enlisted by Wonder Woman to help save the world as part of a small unlikely band,” he teased. “He’s a shellshock soldier who’s been discharged from the war and is brought back to help on a secret mission.”
Does this mean we could be introduced to the first ever Suicide Squad?
I hope we’ll see Princess Diana give him a speech about hope that we’ll make him and the audience feel empowered. I also think his character will be the audience's eyes into the horrors of the First World War and the abuse he’d likely received for getting discharged and not doing his bit.
This is just me speculating, but we do know, thanks to director Patty Jenkins, is Wonder Woman will disobey her mother Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nelsen) by stealing the powerful sword known as the God Killer.

She’ll use the weapon to help Steve Trevor and the allies end The Great War in Europe.
Wonder Woman will be arriving, via her invisible jet, to UK cinemas on June 2. If you haven’t already, check out the incredible trailer below.
