A Star Wars Spoof Is In The Works And It's Going To Be Awful

IMAGE VIA LUCASFILM/DISNEY

Once upon a time, Spoof/Parody movies were great from the Naked Gun trilogy to Airplane and Hot Shots, even Scary Movie one and two were passable.

However, two people killed this genre with lumps of shit known as Epic Movie, Date Movie, Meet The Spartans and Vampires Suck, Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer will be taking on the iconic Star Wars franchise.

Friedberg and Seltzer will be helming Star Worlds Episode XXXIVE=MC2: The Force Awakens the Last Jedi Who Went Rogue and according to The Hollywood Reporter will not only directing but will also be writing the script for the Star Wars spoof with an eye on Autumn 2017 release date.

This is a fucking stupid idea. Not spoofing Star Wars (I think you can poke fun at anything especially Star Wars) that's been done before with Mel Brooks’ fantastic film Spaceballs and even Family Guy did three brilliant Star Wars episodes.

It’s a stupid idea because these two people literally killed a genre that now makes people just sigh and not care. Just look at the films I listed that were directed and written by them. You know what’s going to happen in this film, it's going to have loads of fart and sex jokes, and it's basically going to be lowest common denominator bollocks.

As I previously said I’m not against the idea, but wish someone like LEGO or Seth Green would make a Star Wars spoof because they’re fans of these films and would make clever jokes which fans would laugh and have a fun time watching.

But the fact Friedberg and Seltzer are making this film (which will be crap) and aiming around the same time as The Last Jedi is coming out is just pointing a massive bullseye on their body.

Good luck lads because us Star Wars fans will be waiting for you to balls this up and it’s nice to know will be one of my top worst films of 2017.
