After Robert Downey Jr. spent time answering questions on Facebook Live from the Avengers: Infinity War Atlanta set, Marvel Studios released a behind-the-scenes featurette touring the mega-superhero team-up and announcing filming as began.
In the video, Downey Jr was joined by Spider-Man Tom Holland (officially confirming his involvement) and Chris Pratt aka Star-Lord on day one of shooting last month with Downey Jr describing it as “a year of fun-filled lensing.”
The video also confirms we’ll see the Guardians of the Galaxy meeting the Avengers with Spidey swinging by to see what the fuss is all about and we also learnt a few new tidbits.
If you haven’t seen the video yet, check it out below.
- We saw concept art of Thanos as well as Thor and Rocket Raccoon in battle.
- The events from Captain America: Civil War has made the Avenger totally unprepared to face Thanos, revealed Marvel Studio head, Kevin Feige.
- Screenwriter Christopher Markus revealed Tony Stark and Captain America still aren’t talking and “the Avengers are basically a name with nobody in it.”
- “Tony scenes this greater threat approaching, so he is doing everything in his power to keep Earth safe,” added co-director Joe Russo.
I will openly admit the Marvel films haven’t been for me. In their many years as a studio, there are only four films I can watch and enjoy – Avengers Assemble (passable), Guardians of the Galaxy (passable), Captain America: Winter Solider (love) and Doctor Strange (love).

Despite me not liking or not even interested in watching the larger majority of these films, I have nothing but huge respect to Feige and everyone else at Marvel Studios because they were an indie studio who changed the face of the film industry.
I’m super excited to see a few of their upcoming films like Spider-Man: Homecoming (which looks like the 90s animated series I watch) Black Panther (the only thing I really liked in Civil War) and Captain Marvel (because I love Brie Larson). And of course I’ll see Infinity War on the opening weekend
Avengers: Infinity War will be released in the UK on April 27, 2018, followed by in the US on May 4, 2018. The “Untitled Avengers” sequel, which is being filmed back-to-back with Infinity War, comes out in the UK on 26th April 2019 then opens in the US on 3rd May 2019.
