First Official Image From Young Han Solo Movie Shows First Look At Aiden Ehrenreich In The Iconic Role

Filming for the untitled Han Solo movie has been underway for the past couple of weeks now, and Disney (via the official Star Wars website) have released the first official image of the cast and we have our first look at Aiden Ehrenreich as young Han.

Joining Ehrenreich are the film’s directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller are his other main cast members, Woody Harrelson, Fleabag star Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Emilia Clarke from Game of Thrones fan, the man of the moment Donald Glover and Joonas Suotamo (who was Peter Mayhew’s body double on The Force Awakens) returns as Chewbacca.

The picture is taken inside the cockpit of Millennium Falcon and I actually like the look of Ehrenreich as Solo especially his 90’s haircut. Meanwhile, Glover (who was recently cast as Simba in the live action Lion King) will be playing young Lando Calrissian and Harrelson will be portraying Han’s mentor Garris Shrike.

Thandie Newton was also announced as a new cast member, but she wasn’t pictured alongside her new cast and we have no idea what capacity.

In a short statement, Lord and Miller said “Watching such inspired people from all over the world, with such unique voices, come together for the sole purpose of making art, is nothing short of miraculous.

“We can’t think of anything funny to say, because we just feel really moved, and really lucky.”

We’re still unsure when the untitled young Han Solo film will be released, but at the moment it’s set to come out May 25, 2018. However, that can easily be changed to a December 2018 date.
