Marvel’s God of Thunder has got rid of his long locks and got a haircut and Jeff Goldblum has some shit on his lip.
However, look how badass Cate Blanchett and Tessa Thompson look as Hela and Valkyrie respectively in these brand new first images from Thor: Ragnarok in this week’s issue of
Entertainment Weekly showing off some major 80s vibes.

I’m sure to comic book fans they’ll be saying this is Jack Kirby style, but I’m sure to the wider general audience they’ll see just pure 80’s bright colours.
The biggest shock to most fans was seeing Chris Hemsworth cutting off those luscious, slickly, long locks for something shorter and battle ready as Thor hasn’t got his trusted hammer in hand to step into a gladiatorial ring; it’s well known the popular Planet Hulk storyline will be in the film in some form as we’ll see Thor and Hulk fight it out.

We also have our first look at Goldblum’s The Grandfather and he’s some shit on the bottom of this lip. Serious question, when this image came online social media went crazy. Why? I know Goldblum is a legend, but why does he get this much love.

Meanwhile, Blanchett’s villainous Hela looks all types of badass and intimidating. Elsewhere, I’m falling in love with Thompson even more and these images of her as Valkyrie are just gorgeous.

Thor: Ragnarok is directed by Hunt of the Wilderpeople’s Taika Waititi and while talking to EW Hemsworth talked about his director and what he’s brought differently to the Marvel film and the character.

“Taika has such a quirky, left-of-field sense of humour, which forced all the characters and the tone of the whole story to head in a new direction. Each day we were like, ‘Are we pushing it too far? Are we allowed to have this much fun?”
