Jason Momoa To Star In Just Cause

Video game movies have all been poor, but more have been put in development including Enchanted and now a film based on Square Enix video game series Just Cause is in the works.

Deadline has revealed Aquaman and Game of Thrones star Jason Momoa will be starring with Brad Peyton (San Andreas) stepping in to helm the project from a screenplay by John Collee (Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World) and the plan is to make a big-screen franchise from it.

The story will be similar to the games and follow Rico Rodriguez (Momoa) who is an operative for an organisation known as the Agency. The plot is still being kept under wraps, but it’s understood it’ll deal with Rico’s crisis of conscience in some way while on a mission.

This wouldn’t be the first time Momoa and Peyton have worked together as they previous worked on Netflix’s Frontier.

For those who have played the game should be excited and I think we could expect a fun, action packed blockbuster.

The next time we’ll see Momoa will be starring as the King of Atlantis in Justice League, meanwhile, Peyton is directing the Dwayne Johnson-led Rampage for New Line Cinema.
