Next Four Avatar Films Release Dates Confirmed. For Now.

While everyone was having a weekend off not thinking about work, 20th Century Fox decided to release their slate for upcoming films. Including four dates for the Avatar sequels and it sounds like a sure thing.

Originally the first sequel was set to come out next year, but recently director James Cameron disclosed there will be a delay due to story and CGI (I think) before we get a wave of Avatar films.

Now thanks to an official message from the franchise Facebook page, we now have an update to when we’ll be seeing these productions hitting the big screen and they’re aiming to repeat the Star Wars effect.

So we’ll be seeing Avatar films on 18th December 2020, 17th December 2021, 20th December 2024 and 19th December 2025. However, will this matter? Will people have forgotten about this franchise, like they have now?

Don’t get me know, I’ll understand the Star Wars argument of there was no films for 10 years, but it wouldn’t be for long.

There might not have been any Star Wars films, but people could already watch six films and there were always some form of content released if that been the Clone Wars animated film or the series, and the Legend books and video games.

So one way or another a generation grew up on Star Wars, so the excitement for Force Awakens was through the roof.

Meanwhile, the first Avatar film come out in 2009 and would’ve been a very chubby 16-year-old and now we’d been waiting 11 years for the just second film to come out and by then I’d be turning 28-years-old three weeks later.

All I can now say is these films have to be the best thing ever put on cinemas to get everyone back on board and interested again to have a chance to be successful. Otherwise, this is going to cost Fox dearly.

These dates have a high chance being changed again, but at the present moment, this is what’s going to happen.
