Official Synopsis For Dwayne Johnson's RAMPAGE As Filming As Begun

Dwayne Johnson is getting ready to hang out with animals who destroy America, especially a gorilla named George, as filming for Rampage as officially began.

In the past couple of days, Johnson went on Instagram to show off his god-like physique and gave a brilliantly funny description of this action film and already shows off the tone.

Goin' primal. 🦍 Good to finally have boots on the ground here in Georgia for production of #RAMPAGE. I head up an anti poaching unit out of Rwanda. My best friend is a rare albino gorilla named, George. Very bad people infect George, an alligator and a wolf with a serum. All three animals grow at an unprecedented rate. Their size, speed, agility and violent aggression is off the charts. They go on a deadly rampage and want to destroy the world. George not happy. Me not happy. When animals like you, they lick you. When they don't like you, they kill you. I will hunt down the bad people who did this to my best friend. And when I find them, I will not lick them. We have the best VFX monster making team (WETA) on the planet. Our actors and crew have been working very hard to raise the monster genre bar. As always, let's have some fun. Let's shoot. 🤙🏾 #PrimalDNA #George #Lizzy #Ralph #RAMPAGE

He adds “George not happy. Me not happy. When animals like you, they lick you. When you don’t like you, they kill you.

“I will hunt down the bad people who did this to my best friend. And when I find them, I will not lick them.”

Just by the sound of The Rock’s describing this film, I’m going to have an absolute blast and can’t wait for the brilliant, over the top fun and know I’m going to say the words “you better leave George the f*ck alone you bastards!”

While this synopsis should be official, Warner Bros did release a full official description.

“Primatologist Davis Okoye (Johnson), a man who keeps people at a distance, shares an unshakeable bond with George, the extraordinarily intelligent, silverback gorilla who has been in his care since birth. But a rogue genetic experience gone awry transforms this gentle ape into a raging monster. To make matters worse, it’s soon discovered there are other similarly altered alpha predators.

“As these newly created monsters tear across North America, destroying everything in their path, Okoye teams with a discredited genetic engineer to secure an antidote, fighting his way through an ever-changing battlefield, not only to halt a global catastrophe but to save the fearsome creature that was once his friend.”

Rampage sees Johnson reteaming with his San Andreas director Brad Peyton and they’re joined by a brilliant cast including Oscar-nominated Naomie Harris (Moonlight, James Bond), Malin Akerman (Watchman, TV’s Billions), Jake Lacy (TV’s Girls, Their Finest), Joe Manganiello (TV’s True Blood) and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (TV’s The Walking Dead, Watchman).

To celebrate the start of filming, the last action hero went on Instagram to give fans more insight into who will be playing his best friend and the technology behind it as it’ll be similar to mo-cap used in War For The Planet Of The Apes and James Cameron’s Avatar films.

Day 1. Kicking off production. #RAMPAGE. In our story we have three animals (gorilla, crocodile and a wolf) who fall victim to evil genetic editing, rapidly changing every strand of their DNA so they grow, evolve and mutate. Everything becomes amplified.. their size, strength, speed, agility.. and violent aggression. One of the animals infected - a rare Albino gorilla named, George, is my best friend. George, is played by 6'9 @tallie7487, (Jason Liles, pictured here). Jason has been studying gorillas for months now preparing for this motion capture role. Gorilla movements, body language, and all emotions - joy, pain, sadness, love, aggression etc. It's insane when you get around this man and how he's able to brilliantly embody a gorilla. This is the most fascinating advanced VFX/motion cap process I've ever worked with in my career. Incredible learning curve for me. We have the best mo-cap team in the world (WETA Digital) working on our gigantic RAMPAGE MONSTERS and you'll get a taste of this new technology in the upcoming WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES as well as James Cameron's AVATARS. With all the cool advanced technology in our movie, the #1 thing you're gonna experience when you watch it, is FUN. Because when my best friend, George no happy, then me no happy. And when me no happy.. bad people become our lunch. #Day1 #KickingOffProduction #RAMPAGE🦍
