Ever since Sony announced Tom Hardy will be playing Venom in the upcoming solo film, fans have been wondering if he’ll be in the same universe as Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and making it a part of the MCU.
Until now, Sony producer Amy Pascal revealed to Film Starts that Hardy’s Venom and the upcoming Sliver Sable and Black Cat will in fact “take place in the same world” as MCU’s Peter Parker.

During the interview, no one told Feige is face dropped and look pissed off with Pascal when she dropped the bombshell and social media had a great time with his reaction.

I think this shows Sony are just throwing things against the wall on a whim and see what sticks and looks like these two with be having a chat in a boardroom because Feige is clearly angry.
This could be either because she’s lying or that she just gave away a major spoiler for Spider-Man: Homecoming or maybe Avengers: Infinity War and the future of the MCU.
If these Spidey based Sony Marvel films are a part of the MCU, I can only see them being loosely connected similarly Marvel’s Netflix series. Hopefully, Feige is right and they ARE NOT connected because not everything needs to be and the fact Ruben Fleischer’s directed Venom film is going to be R rated and if it’s going to have a horror take then leave Sony to it.

However, during the interview, Pascal added “there’s a chance” of Tom Holland’s Peter Parker/Spider-Man could appear in these Spider-Man spin-offs connecting them to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“There’s always a chance,” she added.
“I think one of the things that Kevin has done with Marvel that was so brilliant is by bringing the fans along and making each movie seem like a chapter in a book, that you have to read that chapter in order to go forward.
“And I think the investment that the fans get to feel in being a part of a larger story and understanding what’s happening, I think is something that I know Sony would want to emulate.”
Spider-Man: Homecoming will be released in UK cinemas on 5th July (so in three weeks) and the untitled Venom film is slated to come out on October 5, 2018.
