Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated World War 2 epic, Dunkirk has smashed both the UK and US box offices.
The new cinematic event went straight into number one both
countries in its debut opening weekend scoring an impressive £9.5 million with

Meanwhile, in the States, the film has grossed $50.5 million dollars bringing its worldwide total from the opening weekend at $105.9 million dollars (via Box Office Mojo).
With a production budget of $150 million (plus marketing),
then this film is well on track to make a profit for the studio.
