Sale Sharks have pulled off a major coup by bringing
Australian fullback James O’Connor from Toulon to the AJ Bell Stadium.
He’ll be joined by Scotland international Josh Strauss.

Knights), Marc Jones (Bristol Rugby), Faf de Klerk (Lions), James O’Connor
(Toulon), Jono Ross (Stade Francais), Josh Strauss (Glasgow Warriors),

OUTS – Sam Bedlow (Bristol Rugby), Andrew Hughes (Sale FC),
Kieran Longbottom (Saracens), James Mitchell (Connacht), Dan Mugford (Plymouth
Albion), Matt Rogerson (Jersey Reds), Peter Stringer (Worcester Warriors), Sam
Tuitupou (Coventry), Charlie Ingall, Tim Jeffers, Magnus Lund, Jonathan Mills,
Tom Morton, Connor Dever (all released), Neil Briggs, Mike Phillips (both
retired).
Verdict
Diamond has been smart with recruitment bringing Strauss and
especially O’Connor, who’ll be bringing excitement to the AJ Bell. Then add
Denny Solomona, who scored 11 tries in 15 union games, and 19-year-old Tim
Curry, who looks to be seen as Eddie Jones’ no.7.

This could be an exciting season for Sale and they could be
in for a battle for seventh place with Northampton and Newcastle.
