INS & OUTS

Worcester Warriors head coach Gary Gold has gotten rid of plenty of deadwood and while bringing in only a few key players that will improve the squad.

They include the man who never ages, 39-year-old Peter Stringer who’ll bring his untold experience to Sixways and could be a massive benefit to the Midlands club. Plus Scotland forward David Denton could show what Bath Rugby will be missing.

INS – David Denton (Bath Rugby), Tom Howe (Wasps), Simon Kerrod (Jersey Reds), Sam Olver (Northampton Saints), Pierce Phillips (Jersey Reds), Peter Stringer (Sale Sharks), Ethan Waller (Northampton Saints).

OUTS – Derrick Appiah (London Scottish), Tevita Cavubati (Newcastle Falcons), Mike Daniels (Hartpury College), Tiff Eden (Nottingham Rugby), James Johnston (Brive), Ryan Lamb (La Rochelle), Na’ama Leleimalefage (Brive), Val Rapava Ruskin (Gloucester Rugby), Auguy Slowik (Northern Suburbs Rugby Club), Chris Vui (Bristol Rugby), Sam Betty, Tom Briggs, Connor Braid, Jaba Bregvadze, Ryan Grant, Cooper Vuna (all released), Phil Dowson, Andy Short (both retired).

Verdict

Gold has brought in improvements to the Warriors squad and having the experience of Stringer to come off the bench and around the club will be a benefit and keeping hold of Ben Te’o will be a win too.

However, Worcester has a worryingly long injury list that includes Te’o and you can see them getting involved in yet another relegation battle with London Irish and Gloucester Rugby.

Prediction – 11th
