Yesterday (Thursday 7th December), Variety reported the goings on and shake up happening at Warner Bros regarding their DC movies post-Justice League.
Within their report they mentioned the future of Ben Affleck as Batman because he’s in, he’s out and shakes it all about and everything is pointing towards an exit that will likely please everyone in this whole situation.
Variety states Affleck will be appearing as Batman in the standalone Flash movie, which is becoming more like Justice League 1.5 at this point, and that it’ll be highly unlikely he’ll don the cape and cowl for Matt Reeves’ standalone Dark Knight story with the director wanting to cast the role with a fresh talent.

MATT REEVES |
I think the repeated back-and-forth within the media hasn't helped when it comes to Reeves’ Batman because he doesn’t know if he has Affleck or not. Even though I love Affleck’s Bruce Wayne (I think he’s the best on-screen Batman/Bruce Wayne we’ve ever had) Reeves is right to think about his film and casting a new actor makes things simpler for him and the studio.
Additionally, if Affleck is to appear in Flashpoint then his filming could be done in two days and we see him, and not Jon Hamm for example, in the final moments of the film then moving foward with the Gone Girl star in Justice League 2. Reeves’ Batman movies can be prequels as he has 20 years of Batman’s DCEU legacy to work with a younger actor in the lead role.
However, I do think Affleck will be done as Batman in the DCEU with Flashpoint being the moment the change happens with Hamm (or someone else) in the role and probably take some out from acting or maybe retire and focus on being a director.
