The cast for Captain Marvel has added another talented actress with She’s Gotta Have It’s DeWanda Wise.
She joins a stellar cast that has Oscar winner Brie Larson as the title lead and Jude Law, Ben Mendelsohn and Samuel L. Jackson.
Deadline (via Digital Spy) broke the story and this will be Wise’s first big screen film and will be playing an undisclosed supporting role for the Marvel Studios project.

You can currently see the actress play Nola Darling in Spike Lee’s Netflix series based on his popular 1986 film.
Larson, the wonderful person she is, tweeted her excitement and congratulated Wise on joining the film.

This highly anticipated superhero film will begin filming next month ahead of its 2019 release.
The film will be set in the 90s and will see Carol Danvers (Larson) battle the evil alien race called the Skrulls alongside a two-eyed SHIELD boss Nick Fury (Jackson). We’ll also be seeing Larson make an appearance in Avengers 4.

Captain Marvel will be making its way to cinemas on March 8, 2019.
