New Writers On Board For Spide-Man Spin-Off Silver & Black


With Venom teaser trailer now released it looks like Sony isn’t slowing down with the Spider-Man, that might be/might not be connected to the MCU in some way, Universe.

The next project is set to be the spin-off Silver & Black and the studio has brought in the writers of Captain Marvel and Chaos Walking to handle rewrites.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, both Lindsey Beer and Geneva Robertson-Dworet will be handling the script which centres on the Spider-Man/Marvel Comics characters Silver Sable and Black Cat.

Beer recently penned on Lionsgate’s post-apocalyptic thriller and will be starring British actors Daisy Ridley and Spider-Man himself Tom Holland. Meanwhile, Robinson-Dworet has been working on a recent number of big-screen movies including Bumblebee, Tomb Raider and could be working on a DC Films/Harley Quinn project.

She also previously worked on Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel.

The film will be directed by Beyond the Lights’ Gina Prince-Bythewood with Amy Pascal and Matt Tolmach producing. Prince-Bythewood previously reworked the original script by Thor Ragnarok’s Christopher Yost.

The film is centred on mercenary Silver Sable and burglar Black Cat have been allies and enemies and in Black Cat’s case lovers of Spider-Man. Throughout the years, Black Cat has become a beloved anti-hero and Sable is kinda known to comic fans.


It still unknown whether this film (and Venom) will be somehow connected to the MCU via Holland’s Peter Parker as it’s has been rumoured he’ll be in the Tom Hardy led movie.


Silver & Black is planned to hit cinemas on February 8, 2019, so possibly expect to hear news of casting in the next couple of months.
