Elizabeth Banks and Mindy Kaling Joins All Female Ocean's 11

There’s been a change in Hollywood as female led films become less of a rarity (and about bloody time) and now Hollywood execs are praying the female led Ghostbusters becomes a blockbuster hit despite the unnecessary abuse it’s received online.

The fast-developing all-female Ocean’s Eleven is one such film which could benefit and so far the cast seems pretty decent. The latest rumours suggest Elizabeth Banks and Mindy Kaling could be joining the heist caper according to Showbiz411.

Cate Blanchett has already added her Oscar pedigree to the project, which stars fellow Oscar winner Sandra Bullock and produced by Steven Soderbergh. Joining Blanchett and Bullock will be Helen Bonham Carter, who will be practising her sleight-of-hand to prepare for the movie’s high-jinx.

Director Gary Ross, Banks’ previous Hunger Games director, has past the script to Jennifer Lawrence. However, according to Showbiz411, her schedule is so packed she wouldn’t even find the time to plan a mugging, let alone a full-blown heist.

Even though this isn’t a direct remake of Soderbergh’s Ocean films, but the script does have Bullock and Blanchett are reprising the George Clooney/Brad Pitt buddy relationship, with the former making a rumoured cameo.

I really like the idea of a female led heist film and obviously having one of the greatest living actresses attached makes me even more interested and having the comedic styles of Banks and Kaling could be great.

My only issue is that does this really need the name of Ocean’s Eleven to make it a successful film?
