The Harley Quinn solo film has found its screenwriter.
Deadline first broke the news that Christina Hodson, who’s also been working on the Transformers spin-off Bumblebee, was working on a DC movie for Warner Bros.
This led to fans speculating a few ideas, but the number one theory was it’s the Harley movie.
The speculating was confirmed a few moments later when The Wrap revealed Hodson was indeed on board to pen the script and they also found out some added info.
It’s been described as a Harley Quinn/Birds of Prey movie. Rather being a Quinn solo, it’ll feature multiple female superheroes and maybe a few villains from DC comics.
Warner Bros are seemingly rate the up-and-coming writer highly as she’s also been penning a reboot of The Fugitive for the studio, the original starred Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones.
Meanwhile, Margot Robbie is seen as a golden girl for WB because not only will she reprise her role, but will be attached as a producer. Robbie signed a first-look deal with the studio back in September and has been the driving force behind getting the film made pitching it to Warner Bros executives.

It seems to be a smart move by WB/DC Films as Suicide Squad has just finished it’s run in cinemas and likely to end with a total of $745 million dollars at the worldwide box office. The big driving force was Robbie’s portrayal of the character, which was mostly praised.
This film will probably bring a new meaning to ‘Girl Squad’, as Harley will team-up with the all-female hero team Birds of Prey. The team includes, Barbara Gordon’s Batgirl, Black Canary and Huntress, the last two have featured in the DC TV show Arrow.
