Guy Ritchie's King Arthur Is Set To Go Into Battle Against Baby Groot

King Arthur just can’t catch a break.

Guy Ritchie’s highly anticipated King Arthur: Legend of the Sward has had yet another step back and been given a new release date and the odds don’t seem favourable.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros has moved King Arthur to the summer film release spot of May 12, 2017. One big detail this is a ballsy move by the studio is the film will now be released one week after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Because the Marvel Studios film will be such a mega smash hit, two thoughts come to mind, either WB has incredible confidence in the project and thinks it’ll be able to get some money from audiences unable to get into Guardians 2 or they’re letting it out to dry.

However, to give the studio credit they had to do something because the 24th March release date was going to be up against major competition. In the month of March, these are the films released:

Logan – 3rd March 2017
Kong: Skull Island – 10th March 2017 (another Warner Bros film)
Beauty and the Beast – 17th March 2017
Power Rangers – 24th March 2017
Free Fire – 31st March 2017
Ghost in a Shell – 31st March 2017

So I think Warner Bros has more confidence in Kong performing and holding it’s known against these other huge blockbusters. I just want Free Fire to have a new release date so everyone can see how this awesome, amazing film.

Somehow if King Arthur does perform well with the critics and audiences, both Ritchie and WB want to make a six-part King Arthur film series.
