If you thought news surrounding DC Films would quite down following San Diego Comic Con, you’d be wrong. It’s been a mental week with release dates, moustache and Zack Snyder.
Wonder Woman 2
Happy early Christmas! As we’re getting back-to-back DC movies during the Xmas period.
This will be the second time in a row a DCEU film will be released during the holidays as Wonder Woman will be following in Aquaman’s wet feet as the James Wan directed film will be released on December 21st, 2018.
It’s an interesting move by Warner Bros especially with the original Patty Jenkins led film is the biggest movie this Summer and has broken records left, right and centre, with more probably coming.
So it would’ve made sense if WB were to do that again. Instead, why dominate the summer again when you have the winter to play with Wonder Woman 2 and if it performed similarly to the original it would lead straight into the next DC film on Valentine’s Day 2020.
Furthermore, even though she hasn’t been confirmed yet, it gives Jenkins over two and a half years to work on the sequel.

Zack Snyder To Focus On Other Projects
This week, Mashable released a story (which hasn’t been confirmed or revealed by sources) that expresses Zack Snyder and his producer wife Deborah will be having less control within the DCEU once they feel ready to return to work.

I don’t know if I’m the only one who thought this, but I always thought Justice League (before their awful tragedy) was going to be Zack’s last film in the DCEU before stepping away.
He’s been within this universe since Man of Steel (so probably 2011?) and his trilogy would end with JL and what a way to bow out, being the first director to bring these group of heroes to the big screen for the first time.

However, it’s time, like Nolan, to focus on something new and more of a personal project like The Last Photograph he was rumoured to be developing.
Whatever happens with Zack, he’s a part of the Warner Bros family and I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed to see if he’d return to the DCEU for Flashpoint because that would be fucking amazing.
As for Deborah Snyder, I can still see her within the DCEU as a producer/executive producer especially films like Wonder Woman 2, Gotham City Sirens and Suicide Squad 2.
David Ayer’s DC Films Future
In the same Mashable report, it states Ayer future could also be in doubt after his next directed DC movie Gotham City Sirens wasn’t a part of the bigger DCEU slate at Comic Con.
However, during Comic Con, Ayer was asked about why he picked Sirens over Suicide Squad 2.

“It’s a story about three fantastic women who’re trying to find their way in the world, and realise that they have more power together than they do individually,” he explained. “I have daughters, and I want to create something that might be able to help them get along in the world a little bit.”
After the rumour of him possibly not helming GCS, Ayer posted an image of Harley Quinn to squash the rumours.

Henry Cavill Moustache
When Variety revealed the details about the Justice League reshoots, the best part of the story was about Henry Cavill’s Moustache being digitally removed and now Superman has had his say by poking fun at the situation.
