The Queen biopic has ensemble the full band members with a recognisable face for the UK audience.
Former EastEnders actor Ben Hardy signed up to play one of the most iconic drummers in rock history for one of the most iconic bands ever.
Hardy will be reuniting with his X-Men: Apocalypse director Bryan Singer for the long-in-development musical biopic about the life of Queens’s frontman Freddie Mercury.
Mr Robot star Rami Malek is attached to play the lead role of the charismatic frontman and now 20th Century Fox has filled out the other band members.
According to Variety, Hardy will be playing one of the co-founding band members and drummer Roger Taylor, while the other band co-founder and virtuoso guitarist Brian May will be played by Gwilym Lee (Midsomer Murders) and Joe Mazzello (Jurassic Park) will be bassist John Deacon.

Hardy will still be best known to UK audiences as Peter Beale in EastEnders before moving to Hollywood and becoming a fast-rising star after playing Archangel in Singer’s most recent X-Men movie.
The Freddie Mercury biopic has been in development hell for years with Sacha Baron Cohan signed up to star in the lead role, but a few months later he quit and got replaced by Ben Whishaw (Skyfall, Paddington). Whishaw so later departed as did then director Dexter Fletcher (Eddie The Eagle) and the project left Sony altogether.
It later went to Fox and New Regency and in 2016 they hired Singer on board to direct with Malek as Mercury.
Last year, Cohan did reveal why he left the film after disagreeing with the living band members about the second half of the film focusing on the band after Mercury’s death.
Telling The Howard Stern Show, “They want to protect their legacy as Queen, and I fully understand that. If you’re in control of your rights and your life story, why wouldn’t you depict yourself as great as possible?”
Bohemian Rhapsody will be hitting UK cinemas Christmas time 2018.
