After deciding to come out of film directing retirement, Steven Soderbergh is back after four years away from the big screen with comedy heist movie Logan Lucky and what a turbocharged return it turned out to be.
Lucky Logan is about two brothers, Jimmy and Clyde Logan (Channing Tatum and Adam Driver), devise an elaborate plan to steal the weekend cash takings from the Charlotte Motor Speedway complex during the annual Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR race and will need some help from demolition expect Joe Bang (Daniel Craig).

This is a wonderful, brilliant and funny film to mark Soderbergh’s return and what a brilliant job he did to. From the first minute the film set off at a decent pace similar to a NASCAR race and didn’t slow down, but even though the film was going along quickly, you never felt lost.
The reason why the pacing was so clean and smooth is because of the editing. It also helped this close to two-hour film feels like 90 minutes.
Elsewhere, the performance from the whole cast was great, but the two standouts were the hilarious, superb performances from both Craig and Driver. Seth MacFarlane is pretty unrecognisable, but his voice does slightly give it away, but these sort of mid-level roles will help his career in live action acting.

I do want to say even though MacFarlane and Hilary Swank are on the posters; they’re barely in the film. Another actress we don’t see enough of in the film is Katherine Waterson.
Additionally, there are plenty of comedic moments especially when Craig is on screen and there’s a moment in the prison which will get lots of laughs too.
The story will keep you guessing until the end, it felt fresh and kinda original and it will keep audiences engaged throughout.
