IMAGES VIA CLAY ENOS/ WARNER BROS |
I had to wait nearly three hours, but it was well worth it as Justice League just dominated the weekend with their brand new trailer.
The biggest take away from the trailer it once again shows this IS Zack Snyder’s film and I’m sure they had some shots from Joss Whedon’s reshoots, but you couldn’t tell. Furthermore, if there are shots from Whedon it shows that this collaboration has benefited the film greatly.
From the opening shot, this trailer wanted you to be emotionally involved in the film by giving us our first look at Henry Cavill. As someone who was against the idea of having anything related to physically seeing Clark or Superman, Warner Bros have done the most perfect job by only showing Clark in a dream.
Adding Clark’s theme from Man of Steel was a superb touch too and it show’s fans that Han Zimmer’s incredibly beautiful score isn’t going anywhere and I, for one, am very happy to see and hear.
Ben Affleck’s voiceover helps getting emotionally invested as he clearly talks about this being his mission to protect the earth as a promise to a man he wished he got to know as a friend rather than an enemy.
The emotion also come through the cover of David Bowie’s Heroes by Gang of Youths and the slow pace and vocals is a change from the rock vibe for the previous trailers. It’s the perfect song as the footage shows our heroes struggling and that this team will have a battle on their hands before they start working together as a team because Batman isn’t going to let Superman down again.
Obviously, the footage shows the fun and humour of the film and also showing that Snyder’s vision and colour palette will be a useful change from the other superhero films.
All I can add is I for one am incredibly hyped and pumped (I’m sure they’re the same thing) to see Justice League because I now know as well as the jokes, action and spectacle, it’s still going to have Zack Snyder’s heart like Man of Steel and Batman v Superman.
I've waited my whole short life to see the Justice League on screen and on November 17th after my second showing of the day, I know it'll be worth all the bollocks to get to this point.

P.S. If you go on Instagram, you’ll be able to watch a completely different trailer with some different new footage.
