With the announcement of Zachary Levi playing Shazam last Friday, it seems casting is going into the gears as filming starts in February.
Firstly, The Wrap reported that David F Sandberg and New Line/Warner Bros are looking at Mark Strong to play the villain Doctor Sivana.

The DC Comics character is the most frequent of Shazam’s arch enemies and in the recent the New 52 comics, Thaddeus Sivana is a respected scientist who is desperate to save his family from an unknown illness. After science failed him he sought after magic and the legend of Black Adam, hoping the lighting could help him but he was struck by the lighting blinding him in the right eye and giving him the power to see magic.
Strong is no stranger to villain characters in DC movies previously playing Sinestro in 2011’s Green Lantern.
This could be a sympatric villain and has a Mr Freeze vibe to him as I’m sure people could understand trying to save a loved one by doing anything and I can see Sandberg really enjoy a character like Sivana and uses his horror background to bring some fear him with the after-effects of getting hit by lighting.

Plus, it’s great to see Strong coming back to DC as he seems to like these characters and he hasn’t played a villain in recent films in films like Kingsman: The Golden Circle, so hopefully, these talks are positive and we can hear an official announcement soon.
Furthermore, they could easily use Sivana as the key to connect Shazam and Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam and have his solo film as a period piece.
Elsewhere in the world of Shazam, Variety is reporting Sandberg is to reunite with his Annabelle: Creation star Grace Fulton and she’ll be playing one of Billy Batson’s friends.
Call me crazy but I think Fulton will be playing Doctor Sivana daughter, Beautia Sivana.

They’ll probably change a few things about the character, but she’ll still be the youngest of the family and could go to the same school as Batson.
Shazam is set to hit cinema’s April 5, 2019.
