Recap of Movie Trailers & TV Spots From SuperBowl 52

This past weekend the biggest sporting event in the world took place and SuperBowl 52 was an incredible game.

As well as being a sporting event, the SuperBowl has also become the home for the biggest film trailers to be revealed and this year we got some good ones and an amazing one.

You can find out about Solo: A Star Wars Story by clicking here.

Elsewhere, Netflix pulled a big move by releasing not only the trailer for The Cloverfield Paradox but the film itself straight after the game.

Then there was an underwhelming 30-second spot for Avengers: Infinity War with the reveal of Steve Rogers new shield and could Captain Marvel be making her first appearance in this film? Before her solo film and popping up in Avengers 4 in 2019.

We got a first look at Dwayne Johnson’s Die Hard film, Skyscraper. I didn’t mind the trailer compare to others. The thing I liked is that his former FBI agent is an amputee and one scene he runs with a limp, which I like the fact Johnson is taking the role so seriously.

My issue is that it could basically be Die Hard mixed with Ben Wheatley’s High-Rise.

The final trailer worth talking about was the standout and easily the best one released with the explosive look at Mission: Impossible – Fallout.

This was also the first time we had some proper footage of Henry Cavill’s moustache in action and it was glorious!

The music of Imagine Dragon’s Friction mixes with the Mission: Impossible theme really well and there are some really lovely shots from director Christopher McQuarrie, with the bathroom scene likely to be the film's standout, and it seems this could be the most adult MI film yet whilst clearly having some of the craziest stunts.

This could be the film that could save this summer movie season if certain films turn out to be shit and I wouldn’t be surprised if we hear news of McQuarrie in talks to helm Man of Steel 2.

Here are a couple more:

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Red Sparrow

A Quiet Place
