During yesterday’s announcement of Warner Bros’ San Diego Comic-Con panel, they also unveiled the plot to the upcoming DC Films’ “Wonder Woman”.
Gal Gadot will be making her full appearance as Diana Prince
after stealing “Batman v Superman” in many people’s eyes away from Ben Affleck’s
Batman and Superman played by Henry Cavill. BvS also got fans excited and the
people who didn’t like the film interested in the first ever female led
superhero film.
Joining Gadot is Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Connie Nielson as Queen Hippolyta (Wonder Woman’s mum), and Robin Wright as General Antiope with Patty Jenkins directing.
In Warner Bros press release they reveal who wrote the
screenplay and it wasn’t who many people thought it was, originally Jason
Fuchs, who wrote the scripts for Pan and Ice Age: Continental Drift, but instead
the film was actually penned by Allan Heinberg and Geoff Johns.

Heinberg and Johns have previously worked together writing a
five-issue arc for JLA (Justice League of America) and the relaunch of the
Wonder Woman comic book. Johns is also the co-head at DC Films as well as being
Chief Creative Officer at DC Comic and has written for Sky One’s Arrow and The
Flash, the Justice League TV series, and more. While Heinberg as written and
produced many TV shows including The O.C., Gilmore Girls, Sex and the City, and
most recently Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal and The Catch.
I like the one of Johns being a part of the DC movies as
much as possible and bring his expertise to the table and already previously
worked with Heinberg in comic books especially Wonder Woman herself then they’re
the people who know the character best.
It also shows if you have two underperforming films and were
actual flops in the box office as Fuchs films did then you lose out on huge
projects as the company might not trust you as much.
Joining Gadot in the international cast are Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Ewen Bremner and Saïd Taghmaoui. Jenkins directs the film from a screenplay by Allan Heinberg and Geoff Johns, story by Zack Snyder & Allan Heinberg, based on characters from DC Entertainment. Wonder Woman was created by William Moulton Marston. The film is produced by Charles Roven, Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder and Richard Suckle, with Rebecca Roven, Stephen Jones, Wesley Coller and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers. Warner Bros. Pictures presents, in association with RatPac-Dune Entertainment, an Atlas Entertainment/Cruel and Unusual production, “Wonder Woman.” The film is scheduled for release on June 2, 2017, and will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company. www.wonderwomanfilm.com
