We are now only seven days until Suicide Squad blows the minds of all audiences around the world so after this DC Films news round-up I don’t have to predict anything anymore. We can enjoy the film and start talking about Wonder Woman.
Before we talk about all of the news, let’s congratulate Geoff Johns on becoming President of DC Entertainment.

Warner Bros have given its oversight to all DC Films with Warner’s Executive VP Jon Berg after the mildly disappointing results of Batman v Superman. The appointment itself was made two months ago, but just been known to the press now.
I think this is a great appointment and with Johns having his fingers in all parts of DC Entertainment and still being Chief Creative Officer overseeing DC’s successful television properties ‘Arrow’, ‘The Flash’ and ‘Supergirl’.
Now that he has overall control on everything, this is a good sign for DC moving forward and having stories people will read in comic books and which on the small, and with help from Berg, and on the big screen as well.
Suicide Squad
As previously said above, Suicide Squad is only a week away we can get rid of one theory fans have been suggesting since the first image of Jared Leto’s Joker and seeing the Robin suit in Batman v Superman was this DCU’s Joker was, in fact, Jason Todd (the second Robin).

Now this silly theory was shot dead by the director David Ayer himself after being asked by a reporter what was the most ridiculous rumour he’s heard about his movie.
Ayer simply replied “That The Joker is Jason Todd…. it ain’t the case. He’s not!”
Well there you have it you can rest easy now this silly rumour is put to bed and we can move on with our lives and enjoy Leto’s performance as the Clown Prince of Crime.
Speaking of Leto, he was talking to Rolling Stone magazine and called Heath Ledger’s performance of the iconic villain as “one of the best performances ever in cinema.”

He’s right, Ledger’s performance in The Dark Knight is truly terrifying and memorable, and it eclipses Jack Nicholson’s performance in 1989’s Batman with Leto adding “Heath did an impeccable, perfect performance as the Joker.
“It’s one of the best performances ever in cinema. I had met Heath before. I didn’t know him well, but he was a beautiful man.”
He also talked about his own performance and the unsettling elements and studied violent crimes.“The Joker is incredibly comfortable with acts of violence,” he explained. “I was watching real violence, consuming that.
“There’s a lot you can learn from seeing it. Not every act of violence is committed with frenzy, either. I remember learning that. People can be calm. They’ve made their choice and go and do something, and it’s not in a frenzy.”
He described the acts as “methodical and sometimes even hypnotic and deliberate.”
Aquaman
The last piece of news is that we now know the man who’ll be writing the script for the upcoming solo film based on the King of Atlantis; it’ll be ‘Gangster Squad’ scribe Will Beall.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Beall will be working off a detailed treatment from director James Wan and Johns.
Obviously, we don’t know what the story, but Wan has said we’ll see him adding his horror elements.
We all know Gangster Squad isn’t a great thing to have on anyone’s CV; however, I’m sure Beall is a great writer and having people like Wan and Johns to help and guide him to writing the best Aquaman film we could ever see. They’ve started well with Jason Momoa starring as Arthur Curry and having Wan directing is just a brilliant choice.

The Flash
Finally, we now know the actress of Iris West with Kiersey Clemons being cast as the female lead in The Flash.
Exclusively revealed by Variety, Clemons will be reunited with her ‘Dope’ director Rick Famuyiwa who tweeted about the news and it’s safe to he’s excited to be working with her again.
Not confirming anything, but I'm excited about working again with the amazing @KierseyClemons . My "female lead" .... "Shmiris Guest" 😉⚡️— Rick Famuyiwa (@RickFamuyiwa) 26 July 2016

I haven’t seen Dope yet, but I’m sure she’ll be great as Iris will be adding something different to the character that’s not on the Sky One show.
