For a long time it looked like we were never going to get a sequel to Pacific Rim. However, with John Boyega already cast in the lead, Legendary Pictures are now looking to build the rest of the cast and they want Scott Eastwood to join the film, according to Deadline.
Directed by Daredevil’s Steven S. DeKnight and with
Guillermo del Toro producing, a release date has been revealed. Known as Pacific
Rim: Maelstrom (this is only a working title) nothing else has been revealed
about the film’s plot. The only thing I can guarantee is that we’ll see more
robots fighting monsters and its set to hit cinemas in February 2018.
It’s unsure if it’ll be released in the UK at the same time.
Meanwhile, the beautiful man that is Eastwood has been on a
bit of a run joining movie franchise’s as we’ll next see him in Suicide Squad
(5th August) and he’s also part of the ensemble cast for Fast 8, which will be
driving into cinemas 14th April 2017.
