The reason you’re getting a second DC Films news round–up, Gal Gadot talks Wonder Woman, is because tomorrow is the Warner Bros Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con and HUGE news from DC Films will be released and I wanted to get you up to date before the internet explodes tomorrow.

Suicide Squad UK Certificate
With Suicide Squad fast approaching, and you should know as it’s the only thing I’ve been talking about lately in these round up's, the BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) have released their rating for David Ayer’s super-villain team up and given it a 15 rating.

The BBFC will release more info next week to why they’ve felt it needed this rating, but the reason so far is because of “sustained threat, moderate violence” and classed the film under the genres “Thriller, Fantasy, Action”.

To be honest, when I saw this rating pop up I was surprised because I (and many others) thought it would’ve been an easy 12A, but pushing close to a 15, so the only reasons I can come up with is Jared Leto’s Joker is going to be pretty scary and we’re going to get some freaky stuff when it comes to Enchantress (played by Cara Delevingne).

This is Ayer’s version of the film he wants people to see so you have to respect Warner Bros for sticking with their director and for the BBFC saying this film is not for kids (yet parents will still take them). Also, Deadpool was rated 15 and it made over £40 million in the UK box office, so it shows a 15 rated comic book can be a success.

It’s now all down to the buzz it gets on social media before it’s released on August 5th.

Solo Batman Film Set In Arkham Asylum?
This is just a RUMOUR and should be taken with a grain of salt, but Batman-On-Film is reporting “we’ll see Batman locked up in Arkham” in Ben Affleck’s first solo outing as the Caped Crusader.

The site has no other info on how long he’ll be locked up or how he got there in the first place, but don’t expect it to be a straight adaptation of Rocksteady’s hugely popular video game Batman: Arkham Asylum.

This also won’t be a straight adaptation of Grant Morrison’s Batman: Arkham Asylum – A Serious House On A Serious Earth. However, Affleck and Geoff Johns – who are co-writing the screenplay – will be taking inspiration from them and other great Batman comic book stories, but with will ultimately be an original story.

Even though this is just a rumour, it’s a bloody good story if they do go this route and it’ll be a perfect way to show off many of the Dark Knight’s rogues gallery, with many of them in Suicide Squad, plus we could see Poison Ivy, Scarecrow, The Penguin, Two-Face, The Riddler etc.

I think this could be a great idea for a film; Affleck doesn’t have to worry about the original story because it was covered in the beginning of Batman v Superman. So we could get a full film of Batman kicking the crap out of bad guys and be a detective and if you want to integrate Bruce Wayne as a human have it in flashbacks talking to Alfred and Commissioner Gordon.

What do you think? Are you surprised Suicide Squad is rated 15 and if you’re underage are you annoyed it’s not a 12A? Also, do you like this idea for a Batman film or would you like to see Affleck do something else?
