Well HOLY SHIT! Last night Warner Bros and DC Films had an important task during their San Diego Comic-Con Hall H presentation and that was making people move on from Batman v Superman and “MY GOD JR” they fucking completed it.
Warner Bros did the smart thing and started their two hour presentation with DC Films and bring out all their directors, David Ayer (Suicide Squad), Patty Jenkins (Wonder Woman), Zack Snyder (Justice League), Rick Famuyiwa (The Flash), James Wan (Aquaman) and Ben Affleck (Batman, not an official title).
Everyone was able to say a quick word with Ayer saying “I believe the worst of us are capable of doing some of the best thing” and then Jenkins talked about being a lifelong fan of superheroes since Superman and added, “This feels like the best time in the world to make this movie.” Snyder complimented his actors, Famuyiwa said this was his first comic-con and how excited he is being a part of the DC Films world, Wan followed up The Flash directors excitement said joining this world was incredible and this was his first time in Hall H “F***ing Aquaman, what can I say?” he laughs.IMAGE VIA WARNER BROS/DC COMICS |
Finally, Affleck described directing Batman is similar to taking on a great play that has been already a million times. “There’s a tremendous amount of pressure and a tremendous amount of work that goes into it,” he said followed by talking about how interesting the Batman character is.
Jenkins comes back on stage to enthusiastically describe her excitement and then started to introduce her cast Connie Nelsen who plays Queen Hippolyta, Chris Pine who’s playing Steve Trevor and finally Wonder Woman herself Gal Gadot.
Gadot talked about important it was to play the part “It was important to portray the character in a way that everyone can relate to.” Jenkins then went on to talk about why Wonder Woman is important today saying “The world needs love and forgiveness in such a huge way.”
I love this trailer! Don’t get me wrong I need to see Gadot act some more, but what I saw she was Wonder Woman.
Jenkins seemed to have gotten a good balance of making this film dark because they’re in World War One, and this would be the perfect time period for Wonder Woman to leave man behind, and injecting humour to relieve the tension. Also, Gadot looks so beautiful and sexy in every shot.

However, my favourite shot is when you see Wonder Woman coming out of the trenches with the soldiers and see using her shield as bullets rain on her and her action scenes were so badass.
With the film now in post-production, June 2nd, 2017 can’t come soon enough.
