It’s been two weeks since the last time I wrote a round-up of DC Films News, due to the London Film Festival, and now Southern Rail decided to go on strike again (thanks, gents) I’ve got some time to let you know the awesome news happening in the DCEU.

Awesome Behind The Scenes Justice League Footage

To celebrate Justice League wrapping up its UK production, director Zack Snyder released a FUCKING AWESOME minute and a half behind the scenes video.

The video blew up Twitter with fans going crazy and it helped those who didn’t like Batman v Superman/Suicide Squad change their minds a little bit and give Justice League a chance.

Gal Gadot Talks Wonder Woman

To celebrate Wonder Woman’s 75th birthday, Variety has written this amazing feature talking to DC Films producer Deborah Snyder, DC Entertainment President Diane Nelson, Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins and the women who have brought the character to life, Linda Carter and Gal Gadot.

Even though the Wonder Woman film is unravelling in the dark and hellish World War 1, Jenkins insists the film will be different tonally, using Richard Donner’s Superman as inspiration for her film.

“Wonder Woman’s not a dark character,” says Jenkins. “I want to tell a very positive story. I feel like for years everything was leaning harder and darker. There was an expectation that Wonder Woman needed to be tougher or harder, too. But for me, the final victory is if she remains warm and loving.”

DC Comic co-publisher and artist Jim Lee let fans know they’ll be blown away by the film, “Patty has really taken a very inclusive approach and tried to weave a lot of these disparate elements into one cohesive whole,” says Lee. “Fans who have been reading “Wonder Woman” for decades will be really blown away by how [the film] synthesizes the origins and brings her into the modern era.”

Variety also caught up with Gadot, who will be playing and be known as this iconic character forever and she talks about Jenkins vision of the film saying:

For her, it was very important to not just portray her as a goddess, but to tell a very simple story of someone who believes in good and believes that people should be happy and lead safe, happy lives. We cared a lot about simplifying Wonder Woman’s agenda, because it is simple. It was her heart that we cared about, not her being this warrior. When you tell a story from the heart, all of us can relate, because all of us want to live in a safe, quiet, and peaceful world.”

Suicide Squad Extended Cut Coming To Blu-ray and DVD

Last week, Warner Bros announced coming to Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD will be a 13 minute extended cut of Suicide Squad.

Despite splitting opinion, the film is still making money with the current total standing of $742 million dollars worldwide.

Ben Affleck’s Standalone Batman Has A Title, Maybe?

During press for his new film The Accountant, Ben Affleck was asked if there was any news regarding his solo Batman film.

He replied saying it’s got a working title of “The Batman”, but it could change as they’re working on the script. This spread like wildfire on social media with fans and film pundits all thinking it’s the perfect title.

In an interview with E! News couple of days later, Affleck backtracked a little bit saying:

“I mentioned the other day… it’s been around for a long time, the movie… there is no Batman movie happening yet, we’re still trying to figure it out, you know, get the script and budget and all that stuff.” Affleck explained. “And someone said, ‘what are you calling it?’ and I had said, like, back when we were promoting another movie, I was like ‘we don’t have a name for it, we’re just going with The Batman or Batman movie’, and I said that, and everyone was like ‘Affleck announces the title of his Batman movie.’”

People still think The Batman is the perfect title, but for a release date it’s best to think we won’t see anything until October 2018 at the earliest or the likeliest date will be November 2019.

Ben Affleck Explains Why Deathstroke Was The Perfect Villain For His Solo Batman

As well as talking about his possible Batman title, Ben Affleck during his press junket for The Accountant was asked by Collider’s Steve Weintraub why he picked Deathstroke to be his villain.
Affleck explains he thinks Batman and Deathstroke match up well and he loved the character.

Justice League Now Filming In Iceland

Now production has finished in the UK, it was time Justice League to start filming in Iceland.

The reason why they’re in the beautiful country is to shoot important Aquaman scenes with obviously Jason Momoa. Ben Affleck is also there with Gal Gadot and Amber Heard.

Whatever they're filming is anyone's guess. Most likely to be Bruce Wayne (Affleck) and Diana Prince (Gadot) trying to convince Arthur Curry (Momoa) and Mera (Heard) to help fight Steppenwolf.

When he’s not filming, Momoa has been busy taking scenery shots and pictures with his many bottles of Guinness.
