One of my favourite movie quotes was from Rambo: First Blood Part II when Colonel Trautman asked Rambo “You got any ideas?” after getting surround by an army. Rambo simply replies “FUCK ‘EM!”
I’m telling you this because the one-man army John Rambo is making a return to the big screen.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the projected is to be titled “Rambo: New Blood” and Sylvester Stallone will not be returning with Nu Image/Millennium Films looking towards a younger actor to turn Rambo into something similar to the James Bond franchise.
Working hard on the new Rambo screenplay is writer Brooks McLaren (one of his projects is Line of Sight, a thriller Ben Affleck is developing with Warner Bros) and director Ariel Vromen (The Iceman and Criminal).
The project is still in its early stages, which doesn’t have Stallone making an appearing in this new version.
Rambo was the lead character of David Morrell’s 1972 novel entitled First Blood. It was turned into a hit movie back in 1982 starring Stallone with the story focused on issues facing disaffected Vietnam War vets.

The series returned three years later in Rambo: First Blood Part II with a script co-written by James Cameron in this pure adrenaline action film, with Rambo gets his revenge, star-and-stripes style on the Vietnamese. The movie became a massive box office hit and turned the character into a pop culture icon.
Rambo III, released in 1988, suffered in quality and in the box office. It suffered so much Stallone didn’t make a return character until 2008’s Rambo.
