Tom Hardy has played one (or would that be two?) iconic gangster and now he’s getting ready to play a second.
Having already played the Kray Twins (both Ronnie and Reggie) in Legend, now he’s set to star as infamous mobster Al Capone in Fonzo, the upcoming project from Josh Trank (Chronicle, Fantastic Four).
“The story will centre on Capone at the age of 47, following nearly a decade of imprisonment, as dementia rots his mind and his violent past comes back to haunt him.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie will apparently be introduced to buyers at next month’s American Film Market & Conference. Bloom will be handling the international sales on the project, which is now in pre-production.
Bloom’s Alex Walton said “Fonzo brings together the myth and lore of notorious American gangster Al Capone, with the undeniable talent of Tom Hardy and Josh Trank.
“We are thrilled to bring this film to buyers at the AFM” added Bloom.
Capone has been brought to life multiple times including Rod Steiger in the Al Capone biopic, obviously Robert De Niro in The Untouchables, Punisher actor Jon Bernthal in Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian.
Meanwhile, it's great to see Trunk back working again after the new Fantastic Four was an utter disaster and the full out ruined his career, so hopefully this film can get it back on track.
