Bloody hell Warner Bros does make it really hard for us DCU fans to get behind these films and get excited about these films.
The newest issue blighting this DC Cinematic Universe is quite frankly their own fault as The Flash has lost its second director due to “creative differences” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Rick Famuyiwa (who replaced original director Seth Grahame-Smith) made waves in the indie scene with Dope and had been at the helm since June and even cast Kiersey Clemons and Billy Crudup in the important roles of Iris West and Henry Allen (Barry’s Dad).

The film, starring Ezra Miller as Barry Allen, the Fastest Man Alive, was moving forward and heading into pre-production starting in March 2017 with a release date of March 16, 2018.
With Famuyiwa departing the project, production will be delayed and will have a new release date as Miller has a commitment in July.
The bummer of it all is that he was super excited to be directing this film and appeared on stage at this year’s Comic-Con alongside the other DCU directors.

In a statement, Famuyiwa told THR: “When I was approached by Warner Bros. and DC about the possibility of directing The Flash, I was excited about the opportunity to enter this world of characters that I loved growing up, and still do to this day.
“I was also excited to work with Ezra Miller, who is a phenomenal young actor. I pitched a version of the film in line with my voice, humour and heart. While it’s disappointing that we couldn’t come together creatively on the project, I remain grateful for the opportunity.
He added “I will continue to tell stories that speak to a fresh generational, topical and multicultural point of view. I wish Warner Bros., DC, Jon Berg, Geoff Johns and Ezra Miller all the best as they continue their journey into the speed force.”
What makes this, even more, hair pulling as previously a WB chief said DC Films will be edgier and the reason why they parted ways with Famuyiwa because “the Dope helmer’s vision of making a movie with more edge clashed with the studio’s take.”
The big question is, what is going on over at Warner Bros? Is it really this hard to get a cinematic universe to work? Just look at the success of the Harry Potter franchise, they know how to did it.
Meanwhile, I think Famuyiwa and WB/DC had issues with his final draft of the script because they were going to start preproduction and filming soon.
Finally, I hope for the best for Famuyiwa’s career and don’t be surprised if he gets control of another big franchise (best bet Spider-Man) and WB get your shit together and if you still want to make the release date, this new director has to be announced soon and has to be a big name to get some faith back.
