There’s one role Britons are typecasted in Hollywood, the charming and well-spoken villain.
Looks like Damian Lewis is next in line. According to Variety, the Homeland and Billions actor is in final talks to join the highly anticipated all-female Ocean’s Eight.
Lewis will be the target of the gang’s robbery and is also Sandra Bullock’s ex-lover in the reboot of the ensemble heist series which started with Ocean’s Eleven.
Bullock is the leader of the gang and sister to Danny Ocean (George Clooney) and joining her is an incredible cast including Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling, Rihanna, Awkwafina and Sarah Paulson (American Horror Story).
There are rumours they’ll be a number of cameos (and only cameos) from the cast of the original 2001 reboot in the film, one of those actually confirmed is Matt Damon.
“I’m doing a little bit in the film. I haven’t read it yet, but the cast is phenomenal and I’m excited to see what those women do with it” he revealed last month.
The Hunger Game’ Gary Ross is directing the film and he also co-wrote the script with Oliva Milch with Ocean’s Eleven director Steven Soderbergh attached as producer.
